You would think that Filipino hospitality would translate to customer service, but it's usually not the case. I find it odd. It's really difficult to return items (even defective ones) and get a refund in the Philippines compared to the US. And yes, you go to places like this and get treated like a hassle.

everytime I watch vlogs of foreigners esp Koreans processing or making transaction in the Philippines I felt somewhat embarrassed and sad, it’s because you can really see how slow, disorderly, chaotic and uncomfortable the system here in the Philippines.. the long process, old-fashioned way of processing documents or anything seems like we are still living in the years 1970s to 90s...even that only proves that Filipinos are living a low quality of life everyday and it makes me sad..I hope that one day the everyday living of the Filipinos would also improve such as transportation or public commute, processing of documents, internet speed, healthcare, education and leisure facilities, wage, etc.

That happens pretty much to everyone who lives in big cities. Specially those living in Metro Manila. I am from Baguio City and I got my license renewed in less than an hour. I think the offices are more organized in smaller cities(plus the staff are kinder and approachable). 😅 Another perk is that the weather in our city is much colder than the other cities, so even if you wait in line for a few hours, you won’t get irritated. 😅

the problem with LTO is that they seem to forget to embrace digitalization by staying traditional with the steps and involving humans in some steps that can be digitalized. Yes they upgraded some things like longer validity to prevent occurring long lines though the problem will exist again and again if such volume of people register at the same time like many people who are starting to renew after this pandemic. The thing that is frustrating is that Driver registration should be simpler now since everything is connected and validating information such as medical test and driving test is much easier now. If they only focus on digitalization and properly distributing their budget during pandemic they should be good now.

CONGRATS! When I was still in the Philippines it was like jumping through hoops getting documents/card/clearance. You have to take time off from work because you’d have dedicate your entire day for the quest. Instructions were not always clear, the personnel looked unhappy and mad when you ask them questions. When I moved to the US it was the exact opposite. I went to a college here. Requested my transcript ONLINE and it was mailed to me. I did not have to go up to a registrars office and be sent to so and so for their precious signatures and only to be told it would take weeks to a month to get the documents😒 Applying for a driver’s license here, same thing, there was a little bit of wait but the procedures were very straight forward. I hope there’ll be improvement in the future in my home country. Filipinos are hard working but the processes to get documents need some work.

I think it depends on the LTO branch..if you happen to apply for it in a city (people condensed areas) you'll probably spend the whole day for it.. But in a more rural areas, you can have it in less than a day..also, the day is also important, you gotta scout first which day has the least volume of people.. Finally, since you're probably be driving a little bit more often from now on, take care, be cautious, there are so many kamote drivers in the streets, don't expect that everyone is as mindful as you, drive as if you're the only one who knew the correct rules and regulations, that way you may avoid having a road rage scene.. Arguing with people in the streets when there's an accident sometimes doesn't end too well, like even if they're the one at fault they will still try to blame it on you, and that's a good excuse to lose patience, although its frustrating that you know you can't do that.. but hopefully we never go there.. Be safe everyone.

Government agencies in the Philippines are still using antiquated processes. I swear, the hassle of application is not limited to LTO. When I applied for a Postal ID in Manila in 2019, I arrived at 8 a.m. and left at 4 p.m., only to return the next day to claim the ID. Same situation with DFA now, but it's a little different because the most difficult part is simply securing an appointment slot. The audacity of having hundreds of IDs and the need to spend an entire day getting even one of them is heartbreaking. Anyway, good luck driving in the Manila metro. Lots of uneducated road users all over the place, so keep your guards up.

I accompanied my wife before to renew her driver's license in Uijeongbu S.Korea..45 minutes and it's done..as in 45 minutes!!! Dito sa Pinas malabo pa sa kinawkaw na kanal mangyari ang ganong speedy process.. 🤷🏼♂️

Based from the appearance of the vicinity, that's indeed the Biñan LTO office. It's not only because I'm from Biñan, but also that's where I got my first driver's license.

Yup patience is a virtue. Roadtrip na yan sa Batangas, Baguio or Subic. But it's kinda ironic coz the the fuel price is high as of the moment. But i suggest to try driving first to Batangas-Pico de Loro or Canyon Cove specifically 3 to 4 hours drive away from the Metro para relaxing sa Beach coz you know is summer now here.

You are lucky to get that in a day because I myself had waited for 2 years and not only me but there are many pinoy as worse as I've experienced, their reasons sometimes are the machine for the card processing was broken or the contractor of the card has a trouble, but I believed that is their way to control the flow and minimise the traffic flow.

10:51 I can't blame you. The heat and the frustrations you've had earlier is more than enough to put anyone in a bad mood.

I feel the same way as you when getting a driver's license Ate Jessica, it’s like they are all like mad at you. But yes we know and understand naman that they are all busy and frustrated in their work.

In a positive note, the hard part is over, renewal is a way lot faster just go to the LTO Mall Branches. Just make sure there is also an LTO accredited clinic (for the medical) in the mall that you are going to get your license renewed.

I think the situation is the same with every LTO branches nationwide cause like when I got my drives license I was there from 6 am to 6:30pm. 😑😑😑😑

Congrats! It's a good thing you've gathered all the patience you need before ka ngpunta sa LTO 😊. I did the same thing before, i have dubai license and converted it to filipino license but mabilis lng ang process since pinoy nman ako. Natagalan lang siguro kasi foreigner ka. Atleast in the end success pa din! Drive safely!
