Hi Jessica. I hope you’d get to read this. I was 13 when I left Philippines for the States, and it was the hardest thing ever. Although, my parents and my siblings were in the U.S., leaving my friends, relatives, a place I called home, still was the saddest I’ve ever felt. Fast forward, I’m now happily married with 2 kids, recently retired and enjoying every minute of it, but deep inside, I feel there’s something missing. And that is, Philippines is calling me to come home. My wife and I already decided we’re going to enjoy our retirement years in the Philippines. Btw, my wife is also Filipino. So, as sad as you have felt leaving Korea, go and follow where your heart is telling you!!! I hope we’ll run into each other in the Philippines someday.

EMOTIONAL 😥 I hope you know that I am SO proud of you. you are truly amazing in everything you do. how you handle every challenges, how you adjust on different environments, how you face all these things everyday. you are an adventurous person. your life is FULL of adventure and memories. it's nice to always have these two countries that you can always come back to and still feel "home", even after even years had passed. I hope you prioritize yourself over everything cause after all, mental health should always come first!! ❤️ CHEERS TO MORE INASAL AND POTATO CORNERS 🤣 ps. those rude market people must be regretting their life decisions after watching this video.. 😋 jokes aside, them not accepting your furnitures just proves that they do not deserve it. it's not just a simple home furniture, as it has helped you create so many memories living alone. those "furnitures" saw your struggles, happiness, success, and victories in life.

I'm currently watching the Jessica story playlist. There are so many of your vlogs to watch so please bear with me. So far from all the videos that I watched, I slowly get to know your, how you talk to people, the way you approach them, your favorite filipino food, your filipino family in bacolod, and so on. I can tell you are a very approachable, very nice kind of person. It's like "ang sarap neto maging tropa" vibe.... It's a breath of fresh air for me. Keep up the awesome work. I hope I get to see you in one of your paborito episodes. From a new fan. :D

As an American, I am big on the Philippines. The prospects look amazing for Filipinos going forward. Today, A Filipino earns about 11% of what an American does, adjusted for cost of living. By the end of the decade, that will jump to 19% and by 2040, 23%. Philippines has the best demographics in Pacific Asia. As Chinese, Japanese, Koreans and Taiwanese age, they will need Filipinos to become the workshop of Pacific Asia. Philippines is rich with minerals needed for the shift to high-tech energy. I might move to the Philippines to catch this growth and to live among a wonderful people. My Filipina friend here is a lovely re-baptized originalist Christian. Her mother still lives in Cebu City.

I’m not surprised you’re making the Philippines your base. There’s just sooo many reasons to love the country notwithstanding the comforts like Seoul could offer you. Same feelings I have, even after decades in California, my heart continually yearns to go home to the Philippines. Why is this, I’ve been thinking. It’s the warmth, hospitality, friendliness of the people. And the unique island geography that offers different regional vibes- just so much exciting things to experience in a lifetime in the Philippines. US is my physical base but my heart and soul is the Philippines and will always be. BTW, I also had a La Sallian education like you in Manila which has imbued my zest to live life to the fullest that’s always a never ending work in progress. After watching 3 of your vlogs, I just subscribed to continue learning about life from your journeys. Good luck & wish you the best. Go La Salle!

I actually have the same feeling when about Japan but I can't for many reasons. So, get used to the culture and travel a little bit around the countrysides if you still can. Seoul will always be there for you if you miss the snow. Maybe now you can continue your studies in U.P., hit Baguio City up north, shop around more and find your own tropa you can count on. The beauty of the Philippines is not in high technology but in the simplicity of life and most of all, the happy spirit of its people. I’ve lived in NYC since 2003 and I’ve realized one thing, I was so wrong about New York and the Philippines. It turned out the Philippines has more to offer than New York. It turned out it is happier in the Philippines than the gloomy, crime-ridden, expensive New York City where drug addicts roam the streets like zombies and people are akin to demons. The Philippines is heaven compared to these so-called high tech countries where most of its citizens feel lost and depressed and suicidal. You know what these high tech countries are good for? Vacation destination. You know what Philippines should be? Home…always going to be HOME.💗💗💗

@@miketan5353 Yes, no country is perfect, but the Phils' imperfection is quite huge in scale as compared to other countries. Economic, technology, social/health services, education and government. It's just sad, that the only thing that you can only be proud of is the allure of being at home. You can add the hospitality there. And, the "it's more fun in the Phils". There's a lot of poor people in the Phils., the only way to endure is to smile kahit gutom na ang mga anak. The Phils., IMHO, is good for the retirees and vacationers like Balikbayan and foreigners. It's a fact that many professionals and skilled workers have left and are still leaving the Phils. to work for the other imperfect countries like Korea and the USA. Bakit kaya? Please, do not be contented with our imperfection na parang normal lang na kesyo imperfecto din ang ibang bansa. Let's vote wisely para mabawasan kung hindi man mawala totally ang corruption.

It’s funny how people like me would love to live in Korea while you, on the other hand, is literally the opposite. I admire your courage and your love for our country. 💜 I hope people like me get to have the opportunity to live in Korea, even just for a short time. (It sucks cause Korea only allows native English speakers as to teach English but … Koreans move to the Philippines to learn English. Lol sorry, I’m ranting) anyway! Best of luck, Jessica! I’ll continue to watch your vlogs! Hoping you’ll get 1M subscribers soon! 잘 왔어 💜

This was a sweet video. I’ve always liked how you always gave the deserved respect to your source of every experience you had whether they be people, places, or things. It shows great character. By going back to the Philippines, you are now a member of an ever growing group of Filipinos called #Balikbayan . You say you’re unsure of your decisions but, hey, that’s what you’re meant to experience in life, change and growth.

Welcome back to your other home, Jessica. I know how you feel. I was born and raised in Taiwan, but I lived for a number of years in the Philippines. Its a push-and-pull kind of thing. Oh well, at least we can say we have the best of both worlds. Not many people can say that. We count our blessings, right? :)

That first girl who wanted that mirror wasn't just rude but actually inconvenient! She should have checked the dimensions first beforehand.

This farewell to Seoul episode was somehow cathartic for me, too, even if I've never been there. You wrote it so beautifully that it also captured how I felt when I was younger, moving in and out of the places I and our family lived in before we finally settled for good.
