I'm amazed at how you managed to create something so cute and so functional from so much reclaimed material. I have been living in a static caravan while my house was being built and in my first year the water pipe froze and I had to move out. So before the next winter I did the same pipe insulation process you did. It took ages and wasn't easy, especially as I had to crawl right under the caravan and do the layers of wrapping with no head room. I couldn't find anyone to do the job for me so had to grit my teeth and just do it. I was 74 and really scared but I did it. Watching you brought back poignant memories and lots of sympathy. You've ended up with a great pump house. Really well done!

I consider this your first big accomplishment at your new property. Yes I know actually finding the property, paying for it, doing the demolition and digging the trench / making the water pipes safe for winter were significant but this is special. It looks so solid and well built. The outside is actually beautiful and, by the way, it’s well insulated. Maybe I’m just a visual person lol. I know this happened a couple of years ago but there’s nothing wrong with looking back and reliving past glories. I can tell you were justifiably proud of your accomplishment. You deserve it! 😊 p.s. The asymmetry gives it character! Geometric perfection is boring unless you’re Euclid.

You are such a hard worker. And you built a very sturdy little shed for the pump. I was wondering why you clad the inside but it does make it nice and tidy and adds some extra strength and protection from the elements. A suggestion for next time you do this type of asphalt roofing it might be best to start horizontally from the bottom up. This way if any water does get in it goes down over the seam onto the next sheet until it drops off the roof.

If you want to, you can isolate the front holes in the trapeze roof (as seen at 35:24) to stop water getting under the roof with special foam that fits in perfectly or get spray foam / expanding foam and fill the voids that way.
