BEAUTIFUL JOB OF RESTORATION! When I came home from the army fifty-two years ago my neighbor friend/chum had one exactly like it. I purchased one of the dark green 1972 models. We had a lot of fun on those bikes!!

In 1969 I rode a new CL350 to Fairbanks, Alaska, and back from Southern California. Then in 1973 I rode a 1971 CB350 to LaPaz, Mexico. Took a ferry to the interior and rode and crossed back into the US at Nogales. Then rode the sucker back to SoCal. Good memories. The second bike met it's end when a 1-ton dually with overhead camper backed over it at an intersection in Fresno, CA. I learned that day to keep myself in the mirrors of the cars ahead of me.

In 1979, I purchased a 1972 CB 350. I was 17 at the time. The bike was a basket case. ( disassembled and in boxes ) I put it back together. Made it run and then took it apart again. Made into a chopper. After a while, I decided that I didn't like it that way. Took it apart again and then turned it into a bagger. I loved that bike. She gave up the ghost in 1980 after giving me many, many miles of pleasure. I miss that 350. Even to this day.

I have always liked these bikes even though I've never owned one. My much older cousin bought one the first year they came out in 1968 when I was 14. He put TT pipes on it. I've always loved the sound of this bike. If I remember right they won the Baja 1000 a time or two on these too. My first Honda was a 1971 CB750 that I acquired in 1973. It was just magical back then.

I had a 71. My first bike was a Yamaha Twin jet 100. Fun but underpowered. Then I got the Honda. Where ever and when ever I wanted to go the Honda took me. Montreal to Toronto at 75 Mph, no problem. Couldn't feel my feet when I stopped to fill up, no big deal. So much fun, so much freedom.

Nice to see this old CB running once again. I just discovered your channel when one of your slot car videos popped up in my feed. I'm not sure why that was, but I'm glad that it did. Looking through your other videos is bringing back lots of memories for me. I became a Honda fan because of my dad. He started riding Honda motorcycles in the 1960's, but it was his 1970 CB350 that I was most fond of. I myself have had a number of Honda's over the years as a result, both of the two and four wheeled variety. For me it all started with a Z50 Mini Trail. These days I have a CB1100 and a S2000. Each one is awesome in it's own way, but I'd still love to have my dad's old CB350.

@STho2053 жыл бұрын
He was speaking of the cheap refit kits to convert rotor points to electronic. Those are crappy. Then he mentioned that e-ignition is now in the coils and cost $300 to replace instead of $8 and five minutes with a screwdriver. Old analog bikes are best left as they were designed. New bikes are different.
@johngriffin1413 жыл бұрын
@@STho205 disagree, my vintage bikes run far better on electronic ignition than they ever did on points.
@STho2053 жыл бұрын
@@johngriffin141 great. Ride on. Maybe he installed them wrong, got a really bad one, or tried it years ago and said never again. However he wasn't booing all e-ignition in his stream of consciousness YT camera talk, just the kits, then said he'd rather deal with points than a $200 coil he has to order. When the veil of antiquity is pulled away, i really doubt a 2020 bike or modernized retro will fire up in an afternoon after sitting for 30-50 years like these old analog bikes. However they run great today. Ride on man. Ride safe.
