Those are going to look beautiful. I love that the entire family is involved in the planting.

Drone. I laughed when you mentioned Nicole and her toss in planting style because that is exactly what I was going to mention to you. She did do some last year to try it out and that is why she went all in this year. Whatever makes you happy though!

I am sure it works honestly. And it would definitely save some labor but I guess I just really enjoyed that couple hours of work with my daughter laying it out nicely. If we expand even more next year I might have to labor adjust

Loved seeing how you build the temporary raised beds! Great alternative to digging and then placing all the bulbs

Great video! For the end of the rebar I glue a brightly pained styroform ball to avoid any potential mishaps. (sometimes I'm in too much of a hurry) I always love the drone footage

The build The bed after planting is genius. I planted 6,000 tulips in October and it was body destroying. My knees and back took at least a month to recover

Flower Hill Farm probably got the idea from PepperHarrow Farm which did a video on the toss and cover method two years ago called"How To Plant An Easy U-Cut Tulip Garden | PepperHarrow". It was far less chaotic than Nicole's style and was also less work as they don't get down and roll them around into place at all. It's worth checking the video out to see how calm and relaxing it can be. PepperHarrow has been successfully flower farming for over a decade, I think. It's also amazing how they were able to rebuild their farm last year after it was totally and completely taken out by a tornado.

I feel most comfortable with our method for now :)

My OCD would be in full eye twitch mode just dumping bulbs and covering them. 😂😂

Farms have been ‘dumping’ bulbs in trenches using machinery for decades, it’s definitely not experimental. A tulip will grow just fine even planted upside down (not that I’m recommending that, but it will). You have to consider your time when calculating profitability. A good reminder not to get all your education from social media platforms.

Machinery farms operate very differently than 1/4 acre ones

Pepperharrow Farm has success with "dumping" bulbs in trenches. They are on KZbin. As a home gardener, I still take the time to place mine pointed side up. It would be an interesting experiment.
