I’m not sure if you’ve covered this already, but can you make an video on how you make being a mom and a doctor work. I have two little ones and planning on applying to medical school soon but I’m not sure how medical school and residency will impact my time with my children.

If you are trying to decide between W-2 salary and independent contractor work, more often than not your W-2 pay should be more because there are fewer ways to reduce your taxes when you work for someone else as an employee.

Question- as a med student, how did you find the time to work and earn money??
@CeceDeAnn3 жыл бұрын
American students don’t typical work in medical School. Financial aid provides loans and if you need additional funds you can apply for private loans. You could also perform well in undergrad and get a full ride scholarship or partial scholarships. Or if you already Work in a hospital you can look into your employers scholarship programs

Hey doc, you are so humble. Isn't one of the reasons also that you are brilliant and your scores were excellent? No one is getting 222 in step and going for anesthesia right? Wishing you continued success.

@rthurmond19953 жыл бұрын
Chile. I have never met a single doctor that has any type of respect for a CRNA.. and they better not have a PhD and call themselves a doctor (sarcasm)

Do you ever feel like hospitals push anesthesiologists to prospect or see more patients than is reasonable?
@brendan00833 жыл бұрын
That will never happen. You can only deal with one patient at a time and if it’s for a surgery then your with that patient for as long as the surgery takes. Hospital can’t influence that.
@TheAbrahimAhmed3 жыл бұрын
@@brendan0083 sure but they can make you supervise 4 CRNA’s instead of sitting directly in one patient case. Now all of a sudden you are liable for 4 patients and 4 other people taking care of them and you have to bounce around from room to room. Hospitals will always try to squeeze money/work out of anyone. They love them dollars, sadly.
@malikaalibdat70792 жыл бұрын
@@TheAbrahimAhmed This! Literally what I’m most worried about if I get into anaesthesiology. I like doing 1 thing at a time and doing it properly.
@xplicitgoofy10152 жыл бұрын
@@TheAbrahimAhmednot all anesthesiologist positions focus on supervising CRNAs they weren’t taught all those years in school just to do that
@TheAbrahimAhmed2 жыл бұрын
@@xplicitgoofy1015 definitely not, but in the U.S. for-profit healthcare system a lot of hospitals opt for supervisory care to maximize care provided while minimizing costs for themselves. As an anesthesiologist you don’t have to work in a supervisory role. Historically, the west coast lends itself more towards physician-run anesthesia groups, while the east coast lends itself more towards the 4:1 anesthesiology to CRNA supervision model. You can definitely opt not to do that and take jobs where you solely provide anesthesia care, but over time it’s becoming more and more common to be a part of the job, even if at the expense of quality of care. I personally would not want to be potentially only able to supervise. I would want to practice anesthesia and practice medicine.
