@HaveYourADVENTURE All in all, the most important thing for us it that it's safe in Paraguay, compared to Europe right now. That's the reason we decided to move. Hey mate! Sorry, I didn't understand from your video if it's a requirement to be married to go through this process? You were talking about wedding papers and then I fell off.. Cheers wish you all the best!!

@@SVisionario hey thank you so much. Sorry for the confusion. I will release another video about the Paraguay Residency this Sunday and dive deeper into these questions. But here just to give you the fast answer, no you do not need to be married. If you are single, that is totally fine, you can apply with just your criminal record and birth certificate, both apostilled. The price for the whole process is around 1800 USD, but better confirm that with your residency helper. There is a way to get the residency without a helper if you are truly fluent in Spanish but the bureaucracy in Paraguay is a bit of a nightmare, so it will take you some time to figure it out. We wanted to do it ourselves as well but then opted for a residency helper instead. Let me know if that helped. For more information, go ahead and book a consultation with me with the link in the description and i can connect you to a good residency helper.

@HaveYourADVENTURE
@HaveYourADVENTURE 2 ай бұрын
@@SVisionario the first two year temporary residency will already give you almost all the benefits of the full time residency. You can live in PY, get a job, a bank account, drivers license… etc… we use the Cedula as ID card in other mercosur countries. When crossing the borders to Brazil to see the Iguazu Falls, all you can present to the Police in Brazil is your PY Cedula. Just like in similar structures like the EU, you will always have to re register your residency in other Mercosur countries in order to stay there for longer than 3 months or take on employment. When re registering through, your citizenship is the relevant determinatior for how easy or hard it is to get that new residency. We have experience with Brazil residency as well, so if that is of interest to you we can talk about it in a coaching call. I also made a video on my channel about Brazilian residency.

@@kavinkad5733 yes the Thailand citizen situation can be tricky. Thailand doesn’t have an Apostille agreement and also no Paraguayan embassy. Are there any requirements for the time you must spend in Paraguay? Could I theoretically obtain citizenship with a few one week vacations? I'd still want to spend the majority of my time in the United States but would like a second citizenship.
@HaveYourADVENTURE
@HaveYourADVENTURE Ай бұрын
@@vape42 good question, for permanent residency it is enough for you to do your week long vacations every few years. As for citizenship, i am personally not so familiar about the process. You can start the citizenship process after having had permanent residency for 3 years. The citizenship process will then take 2 more years. As far as i understand, there will be multiple stages you will have to go through in order to get the citizenship. How often you will then have to be in Paraguay for that, i do not know. But if you want we can do a one on one coaching about the residency and i will investigate this for you. I can afterwards refer you to the immigration helper. He will be able to talk you through the citizenship process.

@HaveYourADVENTURE
@HaveYourADVENTURE 2 ай бұрын
@@lucasbridges8082 citizenship in Paraguay is a whole different topic. It’s easy to get residency but citizenship is not such a straightforward topic. You are allowed to apply for citizenship in Paraguay just after living there for a few years but very few people actually get it. Paraguayans want to see you being integrated into the PY community with language skills and lots of connections. The Residency Helpers i know told me they cannot help anyone to get citizenship cause it is too hard. And be careful finding people who promise you otherwise.

@@HaveYourADVENTURE Thank you for the generous reply, Paul. I was just curious if the actual requirements for applying for citizenship had changed from 3 to 5 years, as it did in Ecuador years back when they introduced a 2 year TR leading to PR.
@HaveYourADVENTURE
@HaveYourADVENTURE 2 ай бұрын
@@lucasbridges8082 I did some research in that regard and similar to the Residency process, there is also a new citizenship process and it has its positive and negative sides. Originally you needed to have your permanent paraguay residency for three years and then you could apply for citizenship. That process could have taken 5 to 10 years to complete. Now with the new program, you do indeed need to get your permanent residency first, and then live in the country for 3 years, so a total of five years now. But the new citizenship process is streamlined and only takes 2 years. So a total of 7 years from the beginning till the end. I hope that helped you. @HaveYourADVENTURE Ай бұрын
@@MRZE506 good question! It really depends on your situation if you have to do monthly bookkeeping in Paraguay. As long as you do not have any Paraguayan sourced income, then you do not need to apply for a tax number and you are not required to file every month. Though should you feel the need for a tax number, you could even do these monthly reports yourself free of charge. It can be done online. If you feel like hiring someone, you can also find agencies that do that for you for less than 10USD per month. 30USD seems a bit pricy for my taste. For example try getting a residency for an American citizen with Chinese dual citizenship and birth certificate from china. Or what about people from India or Pakistan? They are having a hard time even getting a tourist visa. If you count only people from the US and Europe, with every document perfectly in order, sure then it is easy, but you clearly haven’t watched my video and just wanted to make sure someone who might not get the residency with you has no way to get good information.
