Why don't you build another wood rack like the one you have on the porch and put wheels on it with locking clips to stop it from rolling ,load it up with wood at the wood shed , then with the tractor bring it up to the house. this would have you stacking the wood only once, ( what do you think). from Kevin ,Melbourne Australia,
@howardwaynelambert33043 жыл бұрын
Stack your wood on pallets. Then when you need wood take your tractor with the forks and take it to the house. It a lot less handle and a time saver. I started doing it a couple of years ago.

Or .... use the UBC Tote. works great for "Outdoors with the Morgans"

I use an 80 liter Blue Diamond septic aerator to keep an open spot for my ducks. It keeps a 60 ft diameter circle clear. My stone is a rubber diaphragm. I have changed the pump diaphragms once in 10 years. When it comes time to change them again, I will try this new pump because it's supposed to be super quiet. Fuji Mac 80R2 Septic Air Pump. They are close to the same price. My electric bill has gone up 5 bucks at the most since installing this air pump.

You should make cages on pallets for the wood so then you just fork lift it from the star right to the house that would save a lot of double handling and time, if you make nice cages they can stay on the porch

JudithB I filled the wheelbarrow, and the wagon to park under the carport, broke ice for the critters, fed and filled feeders, LGD has pine chips in his dog house inside the barn and still need to spread chips in the chicken pens and cover my lemon tree on the front porch. It seems to like being outside this winter and hasnt dropped leaves like it does in the house. 20s arent bothering it, but got a 6 soon, so a blanket couldnt hurt!! I found lettuce and chicks at the feed store Wed. I dont need chicks this year, but having Romaine lettuce growing in the greenhouse is good! Take care!!

People here in Minnesota, besides being freezing cold, keep fountains running in the winter so that there is always open water for the ducks and geese to get away from predators. I recall you guys talked about getting a fountain for the summertime to keep the pond algae down. You might look into the fountain for next year. Stay warm!

Look into LINE-X spray in bed liner. I had in put on my 2004 truck when I bought it new. I've taken junk to the dump and hauled all kinds of things, and the liner looks great even after almost 20 years. It goes on thick and is chemical resistant. If I ever buy another truck it'll have Line-X on it.

A little bit of bait feed works wonders whether with ducks, cattle ,and pets. Well we all have something we are afraid of (a male cousin of mine 6"+ 200 lbs is deathly afraid of (all snakes)). I have block heaters on all of our tractors they make one that plumbs into the heater line and works like a percolator , i keep a timer on the big tractor that i feed with to turn the heater on. the goats will be ok , we are having baby calves along right now so i am concerned about them, we are in northern OK and are expecting below 0 weather towards the end of the week and normally only have a few days of below freezing before a warm up come along , expecting nearly 2 weeks of freezing , nothing like up north But its what you are used to!! KEEP WARM

Isn't it amazing when you find a mouse or 2 in the barn and your cats are nowhere to be found? And when they do come sauntering in all cool and calm, they take one look at the mouse and then look up at you like they're saying, "So why did you call me in and what do you want me to do about it?" Or the mice are long gone by the time the old independent cat shows up! Been there many times over the years. Sometimes, my cats just want to play with the mouse, torture the poor thing nearly to death and then somehow the mouse gets away at that opportune moment or they get tired and don't "finish the job". Cats would make terrible mob hit men. 😁😁😁

Those ducks acted like their part was scripted. Before retirement, we lived on a lake down near Charleston, SC. That was alligator, catfish and largemouth bass area. The catfish and bass would take the baby ducks right off of the surface of the water and the alligators would take the adults. Often the ducks, and Canada geese, got away but lost a foot. It was a common sight to see a one-legged duck or goose hoping around. The water was not safe for them.

Hey just a suggestion from someone that has a Battery Tender... you might want to find a way to get your trickle charger out of the weather. Im sure you could run the cord under the tractor, put the charger inside the battery compartment area, and then put the panel back on. It would protect it from driving rain and blowing snow. Just a thought from someone that's been there before
