All future museum curators will owe Ryan so much for all the "recorded" work that he has done on the battleship USS New Jersey. The fact that he has filmed so much of the work for future generations has a value that goes beyond any $$$ amounts! PJ

My girlfriend and I took a drydock tour the day before Memorial Day, and it was fantastic! The museum staff were especially accommodating of my walking disability, sending a very knowledgeable tour guide to accompany us and my very slow walking pace. We were both truly moved by your thoughtful consideration, and it was great meeting everyone. Thank you again, Ryan! You're doing great work.

Once again, Ryan delivers on the killer B-roll footage (4 hours of goose-butt). We seriously need a video of outtakes, bloopers, even more goose-butt, when this drydocking is complete. As always, thanks for the video, regardless of how mundane it may seem. We are passionate about New Jersey and this project, and are grateful for everything you produce.

I wanted to tell you how wonderful a job you do with this channel. I have enjoyed all the past posts but especially the drydock segments. I am a retired Naval Architect and spent most of my career in small shipyards working on docking, launching, and structural repairs. There is so much to drydocking a vessel and your descriptions of it are spot on. My fear is that it will become a lost art. So many yards are gone. Keep up the good work.

HOWEVER I do have one question....on the starboard side of the Holland tunnel there some aluminium diodes, but there are none in the same location along the port side....what is the reason behind this??? Is there a standard pattern across the hull where the diodes are installed?? I find that whole process interesting. Thanks in advance, and cheers from Sydney Australia.

Given that some of the flooded space are excepted to me mostly stagnant, at least as long as the ship doesn't get reactivated, is there anything that can be added to the water in those cases to reduce corrosion? I know for example that water based coolant for machine tools often has additives to prevent it from corroding the precision bare metal surfaces. If an environmentally friendly form of that could be dumped into those spaces it might be worth while. (I suspect that won't be done on operation ships because it wouldn't stay put or would get in the way of the function of the space.)

@CJOlin7 ай бұрын
The drydock will have to be filled to near capacity to float the entire ship evenly. Ryan stated this before, because of the ballast water needed to bring the ship to an even, level keel. Once it has been successfully deleted, the dock will be drained once agt.and the ballast water pumped out...again.
