PID controllers are a legit piece of equipment and they're used all over the place in the real world. And this is a fantastic explanation of them. I didn't get it until this video.

An important note to make for those new to From the Depths. The Onyx Watch are the 2nd weakest faction on Neter. He did beat them The Steel Striders are the 2nd Strongest Faction on Neter. And even worse, that battlegroup featured a number of their most dangerous craft. The Airship is stupid tanky and spams swarms of very nasty missiles. And 1 of their Destroyers present, the Kitakami, is notoriously able to 1-v-1 ships 3+ times its own cost. He did well to handle the Gravitas, but that Steel Strider squadron was scary by the standards of veteran ftd players All that said, good video and reaction

Oh, From The Depths. It's top of my list of games that are extremely fun to watch edited videos of, and almost fun to play. By the time you're done getting your fake engineering degree and fake physics degrees, which you need in order to make something that goes in the direction you tell it to, you'll realize that you have yet to design some weapons. 10 hours after that you'll have 1 semi-finctional missile system, and a gun that short of works as long as the enemy is made exclusively of wood. There are just too many learning cliffs for this game to be good. I love complex systems with some real meat to them, but literally nothing I simple, or streamlined in any way. Even if you've played every other building game out there, you'll still be stuck for over an hour understanding the basics of the building system. Maybe one day, after another 50 to 100 hours of study, I'll actually be able to build a vessel that capable of competing with something of similar cost without resorting to stealing an engine from here, a turret from there, and so on.

ive gotten about 2000 hours total but havent touched it in a good year or two cause i really need to sit down to think about what i want to make or else its ass. most of my latest builds have just been designer shenanigans making weapons to rival anime and which can cleave through the strongest enemies like a knife through hot air

I only know how to build decent ship hulls. I have a friend who is the complete opposite who is excellent at ship systems, but bad at hull building.

@@tripwire3992 Build submaries. Many enemies can't even target you and your pretty save from lasers, missles (except torpedos of course), cram cannons and most advanced cannons.
