Hey Gordon! (Lightfoot) Glad to see your video. My niece collects pyrex. She has a nice display in her home. Would love to see some plant/garden vids. I had a bright pink volunteer fushia pop up in yard (couple months ago) I plopped it in old dirt/clay pot and now it's beautiful! I noticed today another lone flower. Will do same. I feed birds so naybe that's their way of saying thanks. HA take care! 🌈 sundown 🎵...

I was laughing so hard I was crying! I completely feel where you're at, Bill. Trying to move along certain things, and ending up with another shelf full. Your basement is amazingly organized and your booth is so welcoming! I wish you great luck, my friend! Thank you for another wonderful video. Be well. ❤

At first I was like do I want to watch this, I'm not a Pyrex/glass person. I'm so happy I did. You gave me such a good laugh--what does the shelf look like today a year later--there's way more. I'm gonna laugh all day long. And the booth looks good.

I'm curious about something. I have a set of Pyrex mixing bowls and casseroles, 3 in each set that got as young bride in 1982 and have been using them ever since. I'm very attached to them! However, i never see my pattern in anybody's collection, I don't see it in yours either. I did a bit of research and read that my pattern was one of the last colored sets issued before tgey just went to clear in the mid-80s. Mine are pale yellow with a delicate spring green vine along it. Is this just an undesirable pattern? Is it considered ugly? I mean, i love mine, but wonder why i never see it. Any ideas about it?
@silverstatepicks2 ай бұрын
Melanie, your particular pattern maybe a promotional one, Pyrex has a website that lists all patterns and years and oh course there is great books out there covering the patterns as well.
@melaniew43542 ай бұрын
@@silverstatepicks thanks for replying! I looked ot up again after I posted, and the pattern is called Shenandoah. I do see it for re-sale on ebay and Etsy, but I'm still perplexed why I don't see any KZbin thrifters/collectors/resellers with it, ever. I don't think it's ugly, some of the 70s patterns seem more unattractive, yet I see people with them alot. Oh well, thanks again!
@gardenguybill2 ай бұрын
Yes, the pattern you describe sounds like Shenandoah - such a pretty pattern. There are a few reasons why we don't see it as much. Right now, the pinks, turquoises, and primary colors seems to be the most popular. Shenandoah was released in the early 80's (81-86) and the 80's patterns were typically made in fewer varieties...Shenandoah only comes in bowls and casseroles, as you have. There were also fewer made over all when compared to the Pyrex of the 1950-70's - more competition from other brands. It was one of the last patterns released before Pyrex stopped manufacturing all opal Pyrex in 1986. There are several pieces in my inventory, they were probably not in view in the video...I do love this pattern. While there are Pyrex patterns that typically get a bad rap, or are outright called "ugly", this is certainly not one of those 😊
