I mean who could have thought that driving away clients would in fact drive away clients? Crazy, I know

Something to consider is, it’s not always about cost… For some of us, it’s about being able to carve out time, and finding an appointment that matches with our own availability… I would absolutely love to have bangs & a bob, but because my hair grows absurdly fast, I would have to make twice as many appointments to maintain it, but because I work in a restaurant, my schedule is subject to change every week, and I’m not going to give up a shift for a haircut… It’s also why I dye my own hair…

EXACTLY! I have had a blunt cut for years and I don't feel the need to pay 40 dollars for that! I can do it myself the moment I notice my split ends and I don't have to go anywhere or plan anything. But when I wanted something outside of my ability, I made an appointment and paid that girl fairly for her expertise. I am not going to a professional unless I need a professional job done.

Seems like an absurd rule. Aren't colour corrections especially really expensive? I know they also take forever, but even so.

I am someone who will pay $400 for colour on my head. I am someone who has, in the past, paid $600 for a balayage because I loved what my stylist did with my hair and wanted her to have fun and experiment on me. I am ALSO someone who has used Manic Panic at times when money was tight, or who has had to cut off weird sticky things that ended up in my hair after a night of bad decisions (that's half LOL, half regret). So the asinine absurdity of a salon owner who would alienate potential clients rings really harsh to me.

🤯😮What do you do for a living if you dont mind me asking that you get that kind of money to use on hair Im lucky if I make that in a month ina half to 2months time

@@sh3sweird540 I'm a graphic designer, but I must clarify: I don't pay those amounts ALL the time; I WILL pay $400, but I usually pay around $150 every 5-6 weeks. I don't have many other expenses, and I like to feel pretty, LOL!

I love malicious compliance. The night before I started my first professional job out of college, I made a disastrous mistake on my hair, and luckily the salon in the city was still open to save me from having to figure out how to wear a hat on my first day as a teacher which wouldn’t have gone over well at all. It wasn’t the first time I’d f’d up my hair, & it certainly wasn’t the last. We’ve all done things we shouldn’t have, and it doesn’t actually have anything to do with the cost or the lack of respect for the profession or anything like that. It’s just that sometimes you just get to a point where you absolutely need to do something drastic even though it’s not a good idea, and it doesn’t always work out in your favor. 🤷🏻♀️ It’s not going to turn out as well as if you had gone to a professional, of course, but you did something. 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🙄

Hairstylists should be honest about their opinions, and clients should consider those opinions, but throwing down the hammer of judgement and refusing to serve someone…guess they don’t like money.
@bangeryun9410 ай бұрын
People have the absolute right to refuse service to anyone they want and no amount of money takes precedence over manners and peace of mind.
@Caitydid5619 ай бұрын
@@bangeryun94 Except the salon owner in this skit was obviously doing it so she could get more money, and the whole point of this was to show that turning away clients who did their own hair in any way shape or form was for that purpose and that it would backfire. This was a case of the owner not having manners or common sense because of her own biases.

yeah, I am one of those cheapskates. I dont color my own hair, cause I dont color it at all.. but I do cut it on my own, it's long and wear it in ponytail all the time, so when I notice split ends, I just take a few cm from the end and that's it... guess I am not welcome XD
