I’m so proud of you! They have really are a Nuisance! I manage an apartment complex and we have a macadamia tree in the center of four buildings. For all the years we have had large rats because of the macadamias. There is now a garden in the back of the back parking lot and squirrels and bunnies are multiplying! We no longer see the rats but the squirrels are multiplying along with the bunnies.

Good job getting success against the rodents! I was cheering for you all through the video. And I'm glad you mentioned that those things happen to all sorts of people and situations. Nature is everywhere, including creatures. I have moles on my property, but I was lucky enough to get a weasel nesting under my shed. Now I rarely see any moles, and the weasel really only comes out at night, so it's a good coexistence.

My friend was renting a house in FL. and that place was infested really bad with roof rats. They had an exterminator but they came back. He told her things needed to be fixed on the house to stop it but the home owner wouldn't spend the money and my friend move out. I have heard of the corn bread mix and baking soda and that it really works well. I just love your garden!

Tanya, it sounds to me that you did your homework, and now at least if (more likely... when) they return, you'll know what to do to get rid of them. I'm having a problem with something digging in my raised beds and digging up plants and bulbs, even onions. It's extremely frustrating. Some plants like hostas are eaten off at the ground, then just left on top of the soil. I think it's probably squirrels, they can be so destructive. 🐾🐿️🐀 So far, they're leaving Lucy and Desi alone. Happy Father's Day to your hubby, and I hope you both have a blessed week. ~Margie💕

Hi, Margie! It seems like everyone is having critter problems. What animals are in your area? Do you have groundhogs?

I didn’t know. I had heard something similar with the dried potato flakes. I hope the cornmeal and baking soda works. That farmer swears by it.

My cousin told me that rodents also can't regurgitate. so he said to tear up sponges into small pieces and coat them with something that would attract the rodents. when they swallow the sponge it will swell up in their stomachs and they cannot throw them up and this will cause them to die. I had mice coming to my home several years back. and I was setting traps putting small pieces of cheese in the traps and they are smart. they learned how to steal the cheese without triggering the trap or how to get the cheese and not get caught while triggering the trap. so I smashed the cheese just a small amount into the middle of the trap where the spring was and not only could they not remove the cheese it made them spend more time there licking or trying to get it. IT would catch them every time.

I’ll have to try that sponge trick when they come back, because they will 🤦🏽‍♀️

Rats also like your home because it's warm in the winter. They especially like fiberglass insulation. Don't ever let them get into your crawl space.

My neighbor's cat caught one for me. It's our first year ever seeing one. Usually, I am into catching and releasing things....but NOT rats. Nope. Lol

👨🏽‍💻 I never imagined that I would have to be fighting a 🐀 rat &🐁mouse problem. They've been squeezing into the garage At THIS house in the va.beach,va. area. I have lost count as-to exactly how many I have caught and killed. I took pictures but haven't added them together. (But It's definitely over 14 🐀 rats, and over 80 mice.) *One dragged the trap away while caught in it 2 days ago, i still haven't found the trap. Every time I think that's it, more come from wherever.🤷🏾‍♂️ I'm leaving the area for good this week, so, whatever. I'm s0 done.🤦🏾‍♂️

You really have a lot of pest problems. Rat's are so smart, it's tough to get rid of them, I guess you just need to have a lot of feral cats around.

And I usually do. There are always cats roaming through here, but I haven’t seen any in a couple of weeks. Two of my neighbors moved. That’s when the rats came. Maybe the cats were theirs. 🤷🏽‍♀️

You have voles. Setting traps will get them.
@thebusybrownangel5829
@thebusybrownangel5829 2 жыл бұрын
These are gophers, not voles. Voles are smaller and not usually found in this area. Sadly, there are so many of them that it’s hard to keep up. I already have new holes 🤦🏽‍♀️

Lol oh honey I have a job for you.. Hmmm roof rats.. I hate rats.. just in the last year I saw my first rat in the area.. They come from a skin neighbors but have discovered my pond I think.. I live trapped them as I didn't want to kill some other animals.. I caught several and dispatched them... Man I hate them. Love hummingbirds

😂 No thanks! I have enough jobs! 😂 I think every creature in the neighborhood comes for my pond. Something has figured out how to get in. Tomorrow I will be out there checking all of the fencing. And releasing rats!?! 😲 Never! Do you know how quickly those things breed? Btw, what are a skin neighbors?
