Insurance, insurance, insurance! If someone is holding me at gunpoint, knifepoint, or threatening to beat the living daylights out of me, they’re going to get my gear. I’m sorry, but I’m not risking my life for something that can be replaced by insurance. If you own expensive stuff, insure it! Stay safe everyone, and don’t let stories or situations like this deter you from doing what you love😊

Nice presentation Michael We have high security here around our home and studio. We also have 2 trained guard dogs,ex police dogs that live with us. When out and about it pays to always be vigilant. Cheers

Great talk about gear protection. We do need to keep a close eye on our belongings and know our surroundings when out in public or anywhere outside. it sure is getting dangerous out there as the population grows, crime rise as well Nice grenade humor to ease the topic. Great video.

As an amateur photographer I often find my self in shadier areas on my city (more often I care to admit lol) and simply being aware if people following you or avoiding groups has helped out a lot. It also helps if you try not too look "vulnerable" in a sense and even having an obscure object in your hand that isn't a camera is enough to dissuade any violent confrontations in my experience.

I think women are more aware of surroundings since they always have to worry about someone robbing their purse, which isn't much different from carrying a camera bag

I have insurance and I do not use a camera bag. I use a bad that has a tether attachment . I never use a camera bag when I am out and about. I have an AirPod that is attached to my camera when my body guard ( my hubby) is not with me and if I don’t need a piece of equipment it stays home.
