OMG! my two favourite chess streamers going head to head?!? Damn this was awesome, watched the entire thing with a huge grin on my face! Danya is obviously an absolute monster but I also really admire Erics ability to see it as a learning experience and not tilt or rage, I really need to learn from that!
@ItsAsparageese

Agreed, it's so refreshing to see people just playing to enjoy good chess and not wrapping up their emotions in winning or losing. Eric is a role model the world needs lol, both for his choice to have great attitudes and his phenomenally honed skill at actually practicing those attitudes when things get intense.

Youre complimenting eric for not getting tilted when losing to danya? That makes no sense
@noone-ld7pt
@noone-ld7pt Жыл бұрын
@@niranjanrajesh1058 You don't think it's hard not to tilt when you get close to beating someone a lot stronger than you and then get swindled? And you don't think it's hard to keep your cool when you're losing again and again and are trying your very best just not to get adopted? If that really makes no sense to you then I don't know what to tell ya. Maybe take a look at how literally any other streamer reacts in similar situations and you might understand why I think it's worth complimenting.

@noone eric didnt come close to beating,also this is bullet,swindles make up half of the bullet experience. Im 2100 Blitz and bullet lichess,i would not get annoyed losing to a 2500 repeatedly in bullet or blitz

@@niranjanrajesh1058 It's interesting how you seem to be completely unaware that people can have different emotional responses to situations based on their unique personalities and experiences. Just because you personally wouldn't get annoyed losing repeatedly to a stronger player in bullet or blitz doesn't mean that others wouldn't. It's important to recognise and appreciate these differences, especially when someone like Eric demonstrates great self-control and maturity. He's being complimented not for losing, but for his positive attitude and willingness to learn from his losses. Because believe it or not, not everyone has your ability to maintain perfect emotional equilibrium when losing repeatedly

the real scandal is that 1800 dude at 14:50 who outplays and proceeds to beat an IM like Eric Rosen. That dude was being helped by some much stronger player, he was certainly not playing like someone at his rating. He should be banned. I hate people like that.
@noone-ld7pt
@noone-ld7pt Жыл бұрын
@@amoreazione3563 I strongly disagree with this accusation. I did initially think the rating difference was a bit strange so I went and checked both his profile and then the game. The guy has played almost 30 thousand games on the site and has been 2000+ many times in both bullet and blitz. He has even beaten 2 other masters but both time was when they completely blundered not because he played spectacularly. And the game against Eric was completely normal, he made multiple mistakes and a blunder which Eric failed to punish, and more importantly Eric gave him extreme time odds by casually talking away most of his time even after he berserked. And the guy also played it smart by making moves that Eric actually had to respond to. As a 2100 myself I don't see any moves that I would find shocking from an 1800-2000 player. Like Naroditsky himself always says: It's incredibly important to not jump to conclusions when accusing someone of cheating. 1800s are completely capable of playing a decent game, and when given absurd time odds I find it completely plausable that he could beat a distracted titled player in 3/30000 games.
@amoreazione3563
@amoreazione3563 Жыл бұрын
@@noone-ld7pt so you are probably the guy in question, and you just pretended to have casually analyzed this persons's games and ratings. Funny how you managed to find 2 games out of 30.000 (!!) where this 1800 player defeated two masters. What are the odds? You are likely the same person and you just admitted that your actual rating is 2100 and you probably used an old account where your rating was lower to play that game.

Danya is a BEAST, holy crap! It occurred to me while watching that I've seen TOOONS of his commentary, but very little of him playing. So I knew that when commentating he has an insanely fast eye for what's happening on the board, but I always assumed that was substantially facilitated by the objectivity/lower-pressure factor of being outside the game. And logically we know that probably helps a bit, sure. But this match proved to me that Danya's brain fires just as fast when he's in the game, hot damn! Really amazing stuff! It should really have occurred to me sooner that he'd be this amazing while playing, considering that a lot of other commentators are similarly rated but don't notice things at the same speed he does, even though they have the same outsider-view powerup 😆 Also I thought Danya was a few years older than it seems he actually is, so I bet we haven't even seen him hit his full stride yet. Wow. Just wow. Props to Eric for having such a great attitude and engaging in such exciting games and sharing them with us instead of acting ashamed at all of getting adopted by such a powerhouse!

@@tolkienfan1972 No kidding. I haven't been into chess for all that long (about 7 months) but I've watched loads of chess content in that time and I've never seen anything like it. I know the top few world players also have insane mental speed but there's a flair to the way Danya does it, especially when he's also explaining. Brilliant guy

@@ItsAsparageese Yea he is an absolute monster. I'd really recommend looking up the videos of him playing Magnus Carlsen. I had no Idea who Danya was before I was watching Magnus playing a tournament on Lichess, and like he does he went through everyone like butter, but suddenly this anonymous user RebeccaHarris managed beat him multiple times. This was before it was known who owned the account and people were freaking out in the chat trying to figure out who could outplay the best player of our generation multiple times in a row. Magnus has obviously gotten his revenge later and their score now is 748 - 454. But still, being able to not even lose 2/1 over that many games against Magnus is remarkable.

@Roland Griffin Sounds about right haha. I've just started working through some of his long videos when I want more in-depth study, and they're fantastic! @ItsAsparageese

@@noone-ld7pt That sounds like an absolute blast, thanks for the recommendation! I figured he has to have played Magnus a fair bit, but I still don't really have a feel for how much all these top players would have played each other over time, so I wouldn't have guessed that they've played hundreds of games haha. I know what I'm watching during my workout today 😆 I think it's so wholesome how much appreciation and respect guys like Danya and Eric get in the chess community, for not just their competency but also their kindness and classiness. I wish more of the world were set up to reward people like them for being themselves, rather than cultivating and rewarding arrogance and hostility.

By playing unsound, risky opening and lines just for the fun of it (and, also, because even a huge elo difference doesn't mean the stronger player is ALWAYS going to win: it just means that, on average, the stronger player doesn't blunder as much and makes less mistakes and inaccuracies than the lower-rated one).
