Thank you for this video! I have been struggling with getting timing just right and I never thought to just mimic scenes from a movie that I like.

Excellent Tutorial!! I have been dabbling in stop-motion since my early days with Super-8 Sound Film. This is one of the best tutorials I have seen on the subject! I have subscribed.

Counting the number of frames in a live action shot of even a subtle change of movement to determine how many frames should be shot, one shot for each movement, to achieve the same effect in the Lego character, as you illustrated in the video is just one of the features that impressed me. I literally stumbled onto this video by chance; I'm a hobbyist in both photo- and videography, have been for years, but in truth never have seriously considered doing stop motion, though I enjoy occasionally making time-lapse videos (the old-fashioned way; when I shot the TSE in August 2017, I had 1,810 photos/frames to work with). I liked your video very much! One thing I would like to ask, though; how do you make the Lego figures jump like that in the various fight scenes, doing front & back flips, etc? I'm thinking about the mid-air part of the jump. Since you have to slowly shoot a series of frames, it would seem to me that at some point the figure would have to defy gravity for several or more shots in order to show the whole movement, especially as smoothly as I saw it executed. I salute you as an artist in your field.

Which works better? A green screen or a blue screen? Where could I get a good one? I like to use 15/16 frames per second.
@ToxicMangoFilms8 жыл бұрын
depends on your set colors honestly any color works fine as long as it does not interfere with your set design, personally i use blue screen quite offent but sometimes it depends on software
@micahhermiller8 жыл бұрын
I know. The only reason I asked was because I've used both, but I have a really bad green screen/blue screen software and wondered which one might look a little better. Hopefully I'll be getting FinalCutPro sometime soon, so then the green screen effects will turn out better. Thanks for the advice!
@legospeedguy24847 жыл бұрын
they're the same. if you have green in the scene, use blue. if you have blue in the scene, use green. i have used a bright pink screen. works really well....why? because i have nothing pink in my shot so it's great

i would use 24.

Copying other filmmakers films is not original. Perhaps he should come up with this own story and build the models from scratch.
@masonfirman52107 жыл бұрын
I think he means he shouldn't base his short films on other films e.g. he based his Harry Potter short films of Harry Potter. I don't agree with him.
