Getting Started on Arelith: Cordor - Neverwinter Nights

A rather lengthy tutorial on how exactly to get started on Arelith, the Neverwinter Nights roleplay server. It's lengthy because it's complicated, and rather difficult. It certainly isn't overly MMO-like in the interaction in the world, but the levelling aspects and healing side is, as well as the quests.
Getting started on Arelith can seem rather daunting to some, perhaps incredibly easy to others. All this video does is lay down where exactly the packages are, where the writs are, some advice on entering factions and how to gear up. To those who are about to screech about FOIG, please just note that some people take issue with having to ask for help on every little thing constantly - Although the server has a high number of unique visitors, how many actually stay? I've had to guide many friends through the start of the game.

Not finished watching the video yet but I'd just like to say that: First of all the way you speak of other players in game speaks volume about you as a person yourself. Calling others great roleplayers, saying you're lucky to get to interact with them, speaking about Rayne the way you did, saying you hope you get to roleplay with Felicia, it does show a side of you that I think most don't see when they meet a character in a game. I don't personally watch your channel but I am an avid player of Arelith (Had to change my KZbin name/channel, however this works, as it's my Arelith one too) . We are, for the most part, on opposite sides most of the time but I've always found your characters immensely enjoyable, especially Che. I have always considered Jace to be one of the greats this server has seen. This video is fantastic, you're well spoken and you keep it interesting throughout, though it's useless for me having been on the server for over a decade now (Where did the time go?). I've subscribed and I look forward to what else you have in line.

Good stuff. While it's not the usual Rimworld stuff, I think it's good to introduce people to other games that are incredibly fun to play. Roleplaying in RPG games is something that is sorely lacking these days, and some of the servers on Neverwinter Nights will scratch an itch that games like World of Warcraft have never done - and sadly will probably never do. Neverwinter Nights is one of those great games that people don't really know about, and I'm glad you're making well edited videos like these.

Aren't you the guy that cybered with BaRKy's girlfriend's 14 year old sister? And left the server when confronted? Well, I'm "sure" you did it in ignorance. Maybe you didn't ERP with them. Maybe your relationship with the character was cute and wholesome. Wouldn't explain why you quit, though. God, Irongron is the epitome of the indie shill. Makes money on a server ran by volunteers and paid for by patrons. Quietly unbans people that try to make the lives of those volunteers hell for free publicity (and more money). And now BaRKy makes money from ads. At best, Irongron is an ignorant turn-key boomer. At worst, a callous asshole. I would NOT buy this game until he gets a clue or a conscience. At least, not if you plan on playing on Arelith.

A collection of helpful tips to help people who have never played before. The very reason the server still exists is because new people choose to play on it. Do you get it yet? Are you starting to understand? New players are more important than you. The average person watching this video who wants to give this game a shot and have some fun - has far more integrity and self awareness than you. That's why I stopped playing years ago. Because of people like you, manipulating things and ostracising people who have crossed you. Always crawling out the woodwork, posting anonymously and spreading the most ridiculous garbage that can easily be disproven, then running away like you scored some sort of victory. Are you upset that somebody you deemed worthy of your contempt is doing something you could never do? How sad. Actually, after seeing how desperate your little group is getting, I might just join back up again.

There is Underdark start. You may have to play a monster or evil race though (I did as goblin) but others may work fine too

I'm confused, what are the packages? Are those like tutorial quests? Is that the same as the "package" I got when I tried to make a dwarf pally? It was like a message path that granted me stats. But now idk lol

hows it going in the world of arelith? i have fond memories but i am taking an extended break from it. This is a great video and i will use this if i can get any of my friends to play it. I got one IRL to play but they could not handle the control system or the social interactions. Personally I prefer skal as a starter area.

this is the third video where the player has his character walk. Running not allowed on certain servers unless in combat? I don't have the patience for that. Hell, there's a sprint now on Arileth server and the star wars lod, in which the vid I saw, player had his character walking too. Anyway, thanks for the vid, I keep dying in the icy place. I also went afk to eat in real life, came back my character was starving....

Huh curious. I've been playing Neverwinter Nights since it came out almost 20 years ago. But I never got into online servers. Looks very interesting. I have played actual DnD for a little bit too. Maybe this is something for me although the quest and guild system seems a bit confusing. I might check it out.

I have been playing on Arelith on and off for over two years now and still haven't fully dived into the guild system. It is not a mandatory thing and you can enjoy a lot of fun without joining any particular guild. Still, it is not that complicated and the best way to learn is to have it explained in game in character. :)

Arelith is a roleplaying server and while there is no rule saying that you have to interact with other people verbally, people will expect it of you. You can play a deaf mute if you like, but that actually involves a lot more emoting (describing what the character is doing), which is way more difficult than just simply talking. The "bosses" on Arelith are actually so easy that with the right character you can solo about 90% of them. Do not expect a challenge in terms of boss fighting. The real challenge is roleplaying and the PvP it brings to the table.
