Getting Started | SFM Tutorial #1

So finally, Enforma decides to begin the sort of long awaited SFM tutorial. I hope that the quality of this one shows that I have more to offer compared to last time. Don't worry, future videos should not end up being 24 minutes long but you have to start somewhere!

Pinned I still get comments on this video regularly, I wanted to note this before more people comment: - If your SFM is laggy or doesnt run because of your graphics card, there is nothing I can say other than upgrade your computer. There is literally nothing else I can suggest. - Many issues are either not specifically described enough or issues I have dealt with, so I cannot help you, Google is your friend, use it. - To those without issues, I'm glad these tutorials have been useful for you learning SFM!

For those with the lag black screen problem you can just go to Windows then Engine Window then Disable/Click Auto Hide Engine Window. There will be another window shown don't worry about it just go to the main window and continue your awesome animation or learning

Enforma, I have a very important question. In most of these tutorials, it's explained how the posing and the camera works but how do you screenshot the phrame? You have to do that in animation and I don't know how to do it in SFM.

12:43 stuck here. Whenever I move the model and then try to go to the next frame, the model just completely disappears along with all the cameras, even the work one. Edit: It seems whenever it goes to shot 2 (I split it like you said), everything just disappears. I might just be dumb but I need help rn.

Hitting B doesn’t split the shot for me, and the space where you see the animation is in a tiny box with huge black boarders. All the text is super tiny, and it crashes after about 2 minutes of being on. I guess I’m the only one with these problems because everyone else says the tutorial went well. If anybody knows a fix for some of these problems it would be greatly appreciated if you were to share it with me.

DaStrike Letter2 it can’t be to late for quits! You can download the source filmmaker and try it like in the video, if you need models you can go to the steam workshop and search up some models you like. Unless you got a problem like a flickering screen then I can’t do much I’m sorry.

@@simplylemur587 I had it installed, I tried the same as the video, but I ended up fucking up SFM and I couldnt do anything (as i didnt know how to fix it) and then it was also too hard to even make anything... I didnt know even how to properly turn the lights on, it would just keep on being black screen, i changed the map, too, but nothing, I got mad and deleted SFM, so yeah.. Honestly not coming back to SFM ever again. Unless i feel like watching a thousand of tutorials and still not making any progress, I quit, and I blame myself, I'm too lazy to try to fix anything or watch a lot of tutorials..
