How to use the graph editor (SFM)

Graph editor in SFM can be a bit daunting and confusing to beginners, and even for advanced users, there's a lot of things to dig in to that you might not know about. So in this video, I cover the basic and advanced features of Graph editor.

It's very important to know about the flat tangent (second option), it creates keyframes that ease in and out without applying bezier and "spline" curves

Thank you so much! I've tried using the motion editor to create motions and it looked absolutely pitiful. It also made my animation glitchy as all hell. The reason is that I was trying to extend something from a taunt animation but it ended up not looking good. I first learned how to animate in MikuMikuDance, which only has key frames so the graph editor made more sense to me. Thanks for the tutorial! ^^

All movement you animate in the graph editor goes into the motion editor. The problem is animating in the motion editor, not there being anything in motion editor.

my only problem with graph editor, is that it offsets the bones of my model. For example, decide to do a ton of rotations to scouts head in the graph editor. Now his head is offset 2 inches off his neck, making it look like his upper spine is dislocated.

@@GuyDontKnow-vi2hn don’t worry so much about the crazy lines though, they’re just a rough indicator of where movement is happening and how steep it is. Look mainly at the poses in your viewport

Sounds like you accidentally enabled show light frustums
