Its the absolute best. I’ve always been an Imperial Guard since I was a kid. Share the massive army with my middle brother. Two years ago I decides to start Sisters even if I (almost never) play anymore. Just for the models alone. They are superb, and great to mix with the guard. Add some inquisitors, assassins and (very few) marines, and you have the perfect 40k imperial blob.

As a recently returned player (just this summer) I was staggered at the new prices. Made me realy happy when I went trough my old pewter collection and found the old hospitaler and old dialogus. Saved me 60€ right there :D But the new stuff Is realy pretty! I just yesterday started assembling my one new box. 2 pentinents. So much detail for 60 pts 😅 The struggle of timesave vs will to paint and atleast decently highlight everything is real!

I do love the metal models for the sisters but the plastics despite the cost were so faithful and such an epic upgrade I couldn’t help it! Oh my man the penitents I spent quite a few days painting 3 of them up! Still need to do more! These are some interesting concepts on how to start. I choose to do Combat patrol plus Castigator, Celestine, Dialogus, box of penitent engines, and Novitiates. Maybe not the cheapest way to go, but it gave me a good mix of units.

​@@narrativecrusades707 Originally I wanted to go 1 Imperium, 1 Chaos and 1 Xenos (about 1k pts each and build from there), so I started with SoB and DG. The choice was a based on a combination of lore enjoyment, model ranges, diversification of logical paint schemes and playstyle (my DG is very elite focused, while sisters have almost as many flying infantry as boots on the ground which I think makes the whole army seem kind of angelic). I haven't made it to Xenos yet, and at this point I'm also oogling Krieg, Chaos Daemons and World Eaters heheh. I do have my eye on Orcs, Tyranids and Dark Eldar though.. so many choices sigh. Most of all I would like to see some Exodite models, I'd go for that in a heartbeat!

I went overboard last year around the holidays. I now own a rather large Sisters army still all on sprue or in boxes. My Orks, Guard and Marines all took priority. Then with the 10th rules release ... My side project of Choas took priority lol

I am just jumping back in, but I have *ONE* question: I heard the flamers got nerfed ? And I agree, Build the army you want, and just know it might not be a very competitive army, but it might be more fun. I personally don't like Celestine nor Saint Katherine's Procession. I LOVE Morven Vahl, and the lesser named Canoness' . As it is a net negative that they have become more of a hoard army, due to price, I fell in love with the army in 9th, so I "over" purchased models, hehe...... Sadly I never got them on the table during 9th ( 'Rona hit, Work hours changed , etc. ) , so I believe I had a solid 3000 points, and then some remnants, to play around with. That translates into , I have a solid 2000 point army for 10th! I just need the new rule book and the data cards to come in =)

Flamers are brutal this edition due to overwatch being both on charges and when people move. 5 seraphim with 4 hand flamers seems to be the brutal go to so far. Morven is a beast I love the model and paragon war suits. They are strong but they need to pick their fights! Most importantly welcome back and it’s awesome to have you aboard!

For a 1000 pts game, I would take Celestine with 10 Zephyrim, Battle Sisters squad with Junith, Dominions with Palatine, 3 Arco-Flagellants, an Exorcist and 2 single Penitent Engines. It's a list for high damage and some tankiness, focusing on presenting multiple threats at once, forcing the opponent to suddenly deal with like 3 different things he has to get rid of in one turn.

Yeah that’s a very strong 1000 point list and doesn’t cost too much either. The arcos could always be swapped for crusaders if someone fancied it to!

This was a really cool video, I liked the breakdown of different army archetypes I'm getting to the end of a big Bad Moonz Ork project at the moment and I've picked up some Sisters stuff to be a next project to challenge myself with I got: * Combat Patrol * Box of Battle Sisters * Box of Sacresants * Palatine * Sister Superiour Ameilia (I was thinking Palatine with bolt pistol proxy?) * Canoness Veridyun * 2 x Castigator tanks * 5 old metal Battle Sisters from when I first had ideas of having a go at a SoB army when the 3rd ed Witchhunters codex came out - in serious need of repainting and not a legal squad size at the moment This actually adds up to a pretty much spot on 1k list according to newrecruit (I'd not planned that, just bought a few things I liked the look of) but I suspect it's not a very cohesive force as I'll only have 2 BSS's and one small unit of Sacresants between 4 characters so one won't have anything to do I've not actually played the game since 5th edition, but I've been building/painting for hobby for the last 5 years or so and want to get back into actually playing with all my models, do you have any advice for basically a noob coming back playing after about 15 years away to get to a reasonable 1k force based on what I have above? Get another Battle Sister Squad and drop somthing else to get it to fit in? Thanks for the great content!

You’ve got the bones of what you need there as 2 battle sister squads is enough. Putting the palatine with the sisters to sit on a home objective is a solid choice as you can give her the enhancement that lets you re roll miracle dice whilst safeguarding your home point. Two castigators is bang on. Both weapon choices are strong I have two with auto cannons but one of each is good to. Seraphim are amazing for keeping in deep strike as 10th edition has many “secondaries” you need to achieve so dropping them in to score these points is a solid idea. Same for the little unit of arco flaggelents they can be used to screen or sit in a home corner to wait for things like investigate signals / engage on all fronts (screening is where you place them to keep enemy deep strikes away. All in all mate I’d recommend jumping into our discord as we have tons of helpful people in our community who will give you decent advice not purely based on competitive play (unless you’d like that!) Welcome!

I really love your argent shroud with red highlights, this is kind of exactly what I was hoping for myself, could you recommend paints for that sort of style?

I’ll post the recipe here anyway: Spray / undercoat everything black Spray entire model with “leadbelcher” spray paint from GW (you could hand paint dull aluminium from Vallejo but spray paint is quicker!) Light airbrush of Vallejo chrome from above. Wash entire model with agrax earthshade that has been watered down. Highlight with Vallejo chrome. Gold details - any gold paint Reds - mephiston red - wild rider red - fire dragon bright. The last two are edge highlights but you can layer if you want a more orange finish! Let me know if you need anything else !

Looking into getting a decent but affordable airbrush rn, I’ve got a boarding patrol that I picked up from my lhs, as well as just a group of battle sisters Wanted to go crazy with my own lore and stories and everything with a purple and gold Finally got all my paints and paint brushes and realized gold is tough Now going with a more bone white after stripping models. lol At the end you say how you’re willing to help anybody who asks for it when it comes to painting When I get my airbrush would you be opposed to perhaps helping me a bit?

I really like the color scheme in the picture used for argent shroud with the green and white, but when i go to look up tutorials to see what colors are used its all red and silver. Any tips for finding that scheme?

Just had a quick look. It seems they’ve done the body a very dark green, almost toward black. Kept the silver armour and white robes. Tutorial wise if you’re going the contrast method you can use light blues to add shadow and depth to the white. Less is more. I’d then paint the armour sections metalic, wash with agrax and potentially highlight with a lighter metal. Body id paint black and then use a very dark green and play about until I was happy! We have tons of helpful people and skilled painters in the discord if you want to jump in there for further help mate!

While not as big at 1K, what do you suggest for anti-tank work? The Meltaguns don't really have the oomph that they used to, and Multimeltas aren't THAT much better. How does a faction with no lascannons deal with the big targets?

Hi! I’ve played a few games of 10th now with the sisters and the multi melta guns are still very good. They do wound bigger targets on 5s (rets have an inbuilt re roll 1 to wound). Due to the Ap being Ap-4 which is massive it usually smashes through no save allowed. You can disembark from an immolater which has shot at the same target for a full re roll to wound and extra punch. Outside of this it’s the s10 buzz blades and tank shock on the pain engines / mortifiers. I’m also putting tons of faith in Autocannon castigators due to high shots, and in built twin linked! Lastly don’t forget we have miracle dice. We aren’t the best and do struggle against alot off armour but we can fight back!

Just picked up warhammer for the the first time ever ive been into it for a while becuz of warhammer memes and i got into the lore thru yt vids and a couple of books, i yesterday just made my first couple of spure cuts and boy itbwas nerve wracking, im thinking about doing Valorous heart/ argent shroud. As these two factions grab my attention the most , I've been having a hard time though finding colour schemes for those two. Any help with that would be nice. The pain engines are great for it with a ton of s10 attacks and the tank shock ability. Dropping a tank in 1000 should be doable. Don’t forget these are examples to get someone started. Steal the bits you like and take the models you want! If of course someone took multiple tanks or dreads at 1k you’d have issues for sure

Don’t worry to much, work through a tester model and decide which details are going to be easier to “miss”. I cheated and did mine metalic which sped the process up a lot! I’d opt for a metalic or a darker colour scheme to save you much pain!

If anyone thinking about starting sisters - i strongly recommend to avoid combat patrol box. It's the worst one GW ever made. Monopose leftovers from special 8ed box, no weapon options, some units are at weird numbers you really don't want to use and the worst part is that units have zero synergy among them. Most of the units (rhino, penitent engine, battle sisters) are good and repentia and flagelants are okay to a some degree even in this numbers, but they don't work together at all. My advice - try to search for sisters boarding patrol box. You will get decent units in proper size and all(except one) loadouts that work together. It's waaaaay better start for an army. From there you can go either in the direction of Celestine and flying girls or towards tanks.

The boarding patrol is so good! Sadly it was a limited run, for a video people will be coming back to or viewing through the edition I did not want to give false hope! You are quite right about the combat patrol it is not great. Weirdly can play “the mission” alright but being the cheapest is it’s only advantage really.

@@narrativecrusades707 I agree that BP was "limited", but it was "GW-style limited", means it will be available online and in 3rd party stores for the next 3 years. Sanctorum box and purgatory box are officially long out of stock but it's not hard to find one. I would say combat box can be good only for experienced players who will know what they are buying, how they will use it and who have enough spare bits from other boxes to give it proper weapon options.
