Any help, my ODESC 3.6 is not showing on the cmd. When i type odrivetool... just getting ths respons On[1] ......[USB] could not open USB device: -5 but all the drivers are installed

You can use the Zadig tool (zadig.akeo.ie) to select the correct driver.

hi mate are you going to do a follow up video on updating odrive . the latest version for v3.6 is only in gif file no hex files.

Yes, I've already updated the firmware on an ODESC, they ship with firmware version 0.5.1 because if you use the newest version it shows up as non genuine, but it works. You need to use dev0 instead of odrv0 in the odrivetool.

Thanks for this video! You mentioned updating the firmware, how do you do it? If I try to do it according to the Odrive instructions (odrivetool dfu) I get the error: "No firmware found matching the specified criteria.". Also the shipped firmware version is reported as 0.0.0. With this firmware version for example "odrv0.config.enable_brake_resistor" doesn't work.

There are multiple ways to update the firmware, I have to look into the easy methods because I always use the extensive method like shown in this video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKCXYXapobOsrsk). I have seen the fw 0.0.0 problem before but I don't remember what caused it. The brake resistor is automatically enabled on the fw versions that don't have the enable_brake_resistor variable.

@@stijnsprojects thanks for your help. So you compile and flash the odrive firmware as-is, no changes needed for the odesc hardware (like different pin mappings or anything)?

That's correct, the ODESC boards are shipped with a slightly older version so that the odrivetool doesn't detect they are 3rd party boards. When you update the firmware you will have to use dev0 instead of odrv0 in the odrivetool, the rest will work the same.

When plugging in the ODrive, do you get a pop up asking if you want to connect to the PC or VM? You should connect to the VM. You installed the Zadig tool but did you use it? (I'm not sure if you need Zadig when using a VM) Is this the first time you are using the board of has it worked before?

@@stijnsprojects thank you it got connected need more help, I have connected Hoverboard motor 6.5 inc with Odrive and i want to control it will Arduino can you please help me currently i have configured the motor using odrivetool and wheel is moving fine using velocity control

Is the board connected to power? Is the power-LED on? Does your computer make the USB connection sound when you plug it in? Are you using Windows or Linux or a virtual machine?

@@stijnsprojects thanks for quick reply, ı work on ubuntu and while ı reconnect my usb is gone, dont any respond from computer, also ı want reflash while stlink but ı dont connect eather to, before ı had this issue and fix with flash firmware
