Thank you for this nice wrapup tutorial :). I discovered the original article of Arran some weeks ago and back then I already was impressed by this feature build in right inside the engine. This video gives me the boost to look into procedural generation again :)

Thank you for this. I found a use case you never considered, and it frankly is enabling me to easily redefine an entire genre... Hopefully Epic gives you some kind of incentive when I have to pay my publishing licensing fees lol. Because without this plugin, I wouldn't have the confidence that I do in my current project.

Just a little question: i do understand most of points intuitivly - but - how do you create such Triangle? Did you create it with a brush or is there a standard Function to got it? I studied the first 10minutes again and again, but I can't see, how I can get just a triangle. I use UE 4.27.2 - such a triangle don't seems to be part of the StarterContent. Did you create it yourselfe with Brushedeting or MeshPaint? Thank you very much for this tutorial!

p.s. I see in minute 2, that you can choose it in the menue on the right side - but I don't find any content with such a menu. 😞

How about focusing on your actual devs instead of trying to bodge everything with blueprints? This is what causes a very unhealthy culture around this engine
@CyberWolf7554 жыл бұрын
If you are talking about programmers, since the procgen nodes are made in C++, you can write procgen mesh generators in C++ or even Python since that also has the methods
@uncannysnake4 жыл бұрын
@@CyberWolf755 I am a procedural generation fanatic and currently working with RMC (the superior alternative to PMC), I know about this. I also think that procedural stuff should NEVER be done in BPs. Still, it was way harder to get ANY documentation on procedural stuff for C++, and that is basically the only thing that can ensure a good and performant game (that is scalable to multiple people working on it)
@doug82324 жыл бұрын
How about focusing on your actual manners? This is what causes a very unhealthy culture around this engine. I for one think this is great, its a solid springboard for people to get into this subject that don't know much about it.
@uncannysnake4 жыл бұрын
@@doug8232 I hear that all the time, yet not a single proof of any documentation that allows for people who joined through BP to switch to C++ comfortably without feeling hopeless (I did too when I started, and I came to UE as a seasoned programmer). It is not a springboard, it is an almost unclimbable concrete wall. I am very friendly towards newcomers and want them to find a good way towards creating amazing games. Who I am not friendly towards is gatekeepers, and this is what this is. "Let the rabble have the Blueprints and let them believe they can achieve something with it" is exactly the mentality as it appears to me
