I need to watch this a second time not being distracted by those crazy happy photobombing dogs! Thank you for this video - you are so helpful and make everything doable.

Perfect timing. Setting up a large garden now that my husband is retired. Drip irrigation is so overwhelming. You made it so easy. Thank you!! Love the dogs. We have a a blue merle Australian Shepherd. They are gorgeous dogs.

You’re welcome! It can seem confusing, but I’d recommend to draw a map first and then figure out the pieces from there. Once we did that it got simple.

Wow! Amazing job explaining your irrigation system - and with pulse watering as well. One of your earlier videos mentioned it and I went to watch Jenni Love's podcast on it. Looking forward to trying it in my garden this yr as well. Thumbs up for your practical way of figuring out how much water one dripper was putting out - an excellent visual! LOL

That’s great! I’d love to hear how the pulse watering goes for you. And yes, Desperate times called for desperate (bucket) measures. 😂

I set this up this year too and love it! So interesting to hear about your pulse watering! I may try this. My system is similar and I've been doing 30 minutes once a day. Might try splitting it up.

Let us know if you do and how you like it! Do you have a timer, too? The thought of having to turn the water on and off multiple times a day was daunting.

I'd love to get this accomplished! Im wondering where you get your black "plastic " from & how wide is it?

How did your pulse watering system work out for you?

Can you help me with what factors I should think through when planning the width of a bed? For instance, what do you plant in your 4' beds as opposed to your 2'? How did you choose 2'? I'm just starting out and am wondering about this. I've seen others use 3' beds. Also I'm seeing in your gardens different sizes of row cover hoops. I've never used those before but I will probably need to soon, since I want to try growing cool season flowers. Do row cover hoops dictate row size?

I can tell you why I did what I did and maybe that will help? In our old garden we did mostly 4’ beds because that was the size of of our hoops and we wanted to be able to do crop rotation. I’m my current garden I will only need about one or two beds that can be covered with a hoop for early production if I need it, so I only did 2 four foot beds and the rest are around 2’ wide. I wanted narrower beds so I could plant, weed, mulch, and harvest from one side (efficiency). I’m curious to see if the narrow paths and narrow beds make navigating the garden harder. Another thing to consider is wheelbarrow and wagon widths for harvesting, etc? Dahlias need wider paths in my opinion. The hoop bender we purchased was 4’, but you can get a 3’ bender or go with pvc pipe. Your choice.
