Great !! As usual! I've been working with automotive parts for many years. Also, the wiper motors are awesome. I prefer those from vans and small trucks. Quite often they have metal gears inside and they're more robust. The window lifters usually have plastic gears and are less suited for (long) continuous operation and heavy duty. Another interesting automotive part is the residual heat circulation pump. Very durable, high throughput, and it resists coolant chemicals. Finally... those wonderful automotive relays which can easily switch up to 30 Amps. I'm looking forward to see your next video!

Thanks for sharing! Wiper motors are also useful. I would get them out of Ford trucks. I found the worm gear was metal but the sprocket gear was plastic, like the window motor. Probably for a more quiet operation. I used the window motor in the video as it only has two pins for power. Wiper motors have more than two pins for the park and speed functions and can be confusing for beginners. I built an inspectioon robot for running under semi trucks and trailer. The self locking function was handy for stopping on a slope without rolling. Extended running of the motor is not recommended which worked out for my application.

What are the characteristics of a DC motor and how to find them? Like induction motors they have every thing written on their nameplate things like rated voltage, rated current, rpm and torque at the rated voltage with no load on

Car manufacturers contract out a lot of motors used in their cars so there is no nameplate or specs available. You just order the motor with the part number. If you are creating a product, then purchase an OEM motor, and the manufacturer will give you the specs. www.pololu.com/category/51/pololu-metal-gearmotors

@@0033mer The gearing of course. Most motors run too fast for a beginner to use practically. I used to use them as a kid . Back then I had minimal hand skills and even fewer tools at my disposal. There were no robot shops or internet, but there was a car wrecking yard.
