Well that’s a cliff hanger! What a weird set up with the valves and camshafts! The 2/25 4 cylinder engine is piss easy! Poor Sasha hopefully she gets better soon!

It is a complex, or different setup that is for sure. Interesting though. We are hammering away at it this morning. Hopefully freed up soon. Sasha is quite the ordeal these days haha. She is getting tired of having to come to work everyday.

Just finished a restoration of #397 with its 2.6 as well. Engine was stuck just like yours. Glad to see another one being kept on the road. If you run into any issues with parts or problems, let me know if I can provide any helpful info.
@LostCauseRanch2 жыл бұрын
Awesome. Where about a are you located if you don’t mind me asking. We are in Iowa. Nice to see you got it going again. We have this one that will keep the 2.6 and then we have #475 that was swapped to a Chevy inline 6.

Hopefully we can get it unstuck without too much damage.

The engine does look promising. I do hope it can go back in.

I think there is some hope for it.

Not sure if you have found a good replacement/donor engine to help with the restoration, but this beauty is sitting in my local Pick a Part here in Ontario Ca.. 1967 rover P6 3 litre. Spins freely and is complete. It would make an excellent engine for your Series 2. I have photos, but couldnt attach them here.

I’m trying to calculate how long it would take to get it out to the Rover Woods Lodge, feels like it would be fitting place to visit with it.

I had no idea there was such a thing as a combination sidevalve/OHV engine.
@LostCauseRanch2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, quite the interesting concept. It is the first of the sorts that I’ve ever been into.

8:18 yep, this is the F head, the missing link between side valve and overhead valve :o) hell of a thang ain’t it. *that doesn’t look the right head, that there looks like the high flow weslake?
@LostCauseRanch2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is the Weslake. The US NADA 109s got that, something about it fitting the intake/carb setup of the Weslake. It’ll be a high performance machine haha.

@@LostCauseRanch Oh huge torque monster. (Max at 1200?) Fourth gear everywhere :o) never gonna drop to first :D *it probably ate the gearbox?
@CharlesRevis12 жыл бұрын
have to say, quite suprised your not putting a new galv chassis underneath instead of repairing it
@LostCauseRanch2 жыл бұрын
The other 109 will get a complete chassis, this one I think we can save, worst case scenario we replace it with a galvy chassis down the road.

I've heard Diesel fuel and Evapo-Rust has been known to help with stuck blocks.... this one looks really look DOA - I hope not. Running my original motor in my 67 2a

We are messing with it some now, might try that combo too. Hopefully we get somewhere.

Afraid that engine is a lost cause. With all that corrosion in the intake and exhausts, no doubt water got into the cylinders and they are toast. And I mean major rust divots in the walls. And that is not repairable without sleeves and major work.
