Now that looked like a blast, How bad did Ted rub it in lol, But the Eco did make it out there, and the steering shaft was unexpected. Sasha looked like she enjoyed it a lot too. And you can always try it again with the Eco. But either way it was an adventure

Bummer day. My sister had gifted me the Disco 2. Ive been wrenching on it for a few years now. So 2 days ago i mentioned that the Disco was having brake issues. Specifically the rear sets. When i do testing for panic stops. Only the fronts brake. Then they become very hard. I have gone through the entire brake system rebuild. From the master cylinders to the brake pads and rotors and all brake calipers replacement. Its was not a huge money items. After i sent the cores back. I believe i invested $175.00 total. Then DOT 4 fluid. I flushed the entire system and then power bleed. I did find bubbles in the front. The final hurdle i ordered new brake lines. Stainless steel covered lines all 4 corners. Then power bleed again. I did solve a problem. The 3 stooges would randomly chime away. I would cycle the ignition and they would go away. After manual bleeding and power bleeding. The 3 stooges are not coming up anymore?? Im a DYier mechanic for over 50 yrs now. I do enjoy it very much.

I am working on the V6 lr4. Just replaced the chains and after applying tension they are not signed with the timing mark on the guides. It is half a link off. After starting it up I get cam correlation codes for all 4 cams. Any idea why it's not lining up?

Cool trip! It's a shame the Eco didn't want to cooperate. 😒 I'm glad that tree didn't fall on the house. That leaking roof is problem enough!
@LostCauseRanch16 сағат бұрын
I guess these things happen on vehicles with 220k miles haha. But no the trip was a blast and I'm not really bothered by the Eco deciding to take a break, still had so much fun. I agree, have had enough trees end up on the house already. Some days I like being in the middle of the woods, some days I don't.

@LostCauseRanch15 сағат бұрын
That sucks. We could have come up with a fix while we were there, but there was enough seats to ride and I figured it would be a whole lot more fun not sitting there and working on something instead of being out on the trails. So I’m not even mad, it was fun just being out there. All the more reason to head back now haha.

Haha. I wouldn’t say that, just mine are haha. But no, it has 220k miles and is almost 30 years old so some things are bound to happen no matter what kind of vehicle it is. It’s all part of the adventure. It may swing back out there a little later this year yet.

Wow what a fantastic adventure, looked like Sasha was enjoying her time outside as well. Just to ask, you said Teds “RENTAL” Jeep!!! Really? Let’s just hope they don’t follow your KZbin Channel or that you managed to get her returned and your deposit back before they saw what you had up to with it 🤣😂. A great shame the Eco Disco let you down, but as you said thank goodness it decided to fail in the car park and not on the trail or the highway. Looking forward to your next video 👍😎
@LostCauseRanch21 сағат бұрын
Haha, no it's Ted's Jeep, it just turned into the rental Jeep since I didn't manage to bring something that would make it. Sasha seemed to really enjoy the trip, she's a warm weather pooch so she loved it out there. We were really fortunate that the Eco gave up the ghost in the parking lot, could have gone badly elsewhere so I'm not even the least bit upset. On another note, there is a few places out there that you can rent similarly outfitted Jeeps like Ted's to rent and do the same trails that we did, pretty cool that they do that.
@pgtips614321 сағат бұрын
It’s great that Ted decided to take the Jeep on the trailer, or did he just know the good old Eco Disco just might need help to return back home 🤔😂🤣. It’s obvious that Sasha is definitely a warm weather kind of girl 😎. To be able to rent a vehicle to do that trip is amazing and crazy at the same time, I bet their deposit it eye watering along with the return damage costs etc😡. Looking forward to you next adventure/ video, keep up the great work 👍😎
@LostCauseRanch19 сағат бұрын
I mean I think we all knew there was a chance the 220k mile Disco would pose a risk haha. Just didn't think it was going to be that issue. So the trailer was kind of planned, only thing I feel bad about is Ted took it a little easier to not risk breaking his Jeep since we were out of trailer space. And yeah it is neat that they would rent them for that, one place had newer Wranglers on 38" tires to rent, pretty cool. For instance Ted's is on 37s with the same size lift so the rental would be able to have a lot of fun too.

@johnboy27762 күн бұрын
Worst thing to do is replace the timing chain , the oil pump and gear that wear out. Only to have the engine lock up on you because indeed the cam caps are scored along with the crank bearings and journals . Thats why I’d recommend the engine also. Seen this happen a few times at the dealership.

@LostCauseRanch20 күн бұрын
You are fortunate to be that close to such a neat place. The cool thing is there is plenty of trails/gravel roads for any sort of rig. My suggestion would be to look at some of the Jeep rental companies websites and see what trails they allow certain rental Jeeps on and that can give you a rough idea of what you can take yours on. I think Jenny’s Jeep Rentals has a decent little easy, medium and hard trail list that they allow their rentals on. It just gives you a little up front idea of what may not be possible for your Disco 2.

Yes, that would have been nice to see what it actually hit in real temp. Definitely not ideal but didn't have an area to pull out of the way on the climb once it climbed. My 25 year old P38 bakes in the summer heat for 12 hours at a time saving all the unfortunate Toyota drivers that thought they had an offroad rig on their hands. I wouldn't think twice to drive it to Moab, aside from the horribly out of round tires.
@LostCauseRanch21 сағат бұрын
The old ones really aren't all that bad, at this point it's just normal to have some things needing attention with 220k miles, even Toyotas need that too haha. At least tires are an easy (albeit more expensive these days) thing to take care of.

The bag-o-lube are great. I saved one of my bags after I used it. I get the gallon of Valvoline and refill the bag. Works awesome. I need to change my transfer case oil next. Got the front and rear differentials rebuilt with new bearings and seals. And refill with Valvoline. Changed my oil with 5-40 diesel oil, the synthetic kind. Changed my oil and transmission coolers and radiator. I just bought them a bit at a time. Then did the whole nine yard service. I am waiting to overhaul my transfer case next. Big budget items tho...will need to save some cash till I'm ready. Cheers Just like you. I found a bad tie rod end. Luckily I had a spare 😅😅 Now I need to wash the under carriage soon. She likes to mark a spot..😅😅 I need to tackle the leaky sunroof next. I have a spare 🦭 seal just in case. I did add LED head lights. Ahhhh she is bright. Got 2 new wheels bearings too. Just had a spare set lying around 😅😅😅
@LostCauseRanch22 сағат бұрын
That is not a bad idea to re use the bag, it is so much nicer than pumping gear lube or maneuvering a regular bottle in there. I use the non synthetic Shell Rotella 15-40 in this one, the synthetic would be great as well. Seems like ours have similar lives and problems haha. I have LED lights in this as well, much better. Luckily no sunroof so that doesn't leak haha.
