Hey Chris the wires on the walkers, are for walker loss. The rack load will be on the inside of the back wall, it’s usually a plate that lifts away from the sensor. Should be a good machine, keep the concaves and the rub bars up and the walker cranks and sieves up and she will last a long time.

Your going to wanna order and change out your shoe drive sprocket to one from a yellow top 8820 (19 tooth from a 21 if I remember correctly). Slowing down the shoe will save you a bunch of headaches with cracks and what not in the future. Other wise those girls are damn good machines.

Get you a wool pad on a grinder or polisher and get some fine cut rubbing compound. I know 3M is expensive, but it's the best on the market. What we used in the body shop for oxidized cars. Red cars in particular seemed to oxidize bad.

Somebody has probably already said this, but that saw is known as a cold cut saw, it doesn't need to spin as fast as a normal chop saw, that's why the piece was cold to the touch straight after cutting, revolution do a similar and some may say better version of it.

My Gramps got this nice old-school manual drill in his shop. It was obviously converted and upgraded a hunded times or so. It's powered by a powerful but slowly turning engine, with all the cogs reducing the turn speed tremendously as well. It's still as manual as it gets, having to turn the cam by hand tooperate the whole thing. It fits various drills, we have some that look like a flat head screwdriver on the top - they're made from the best material I've ever seen. Gramps says they're made from "bayonet steel" - the same kind that saw the battles of the 1st WW. Keep it up, great progress in this short time. Hope for more!

That 8820 will be a good machine for you Chris. They are a big capacity combine for the age of it. When the top bearing on the tailing elevator goes you have to take the floor panel out of the cab to get in and cut the old race off the shaft. I did the one on the neighbours 8820 a couple times in the time they had it. Keep it shedded if you can or buy a big tarp.

Chris with all of the rain up NY way will you be putting the floaters on the red Mack? Would they fit? The cold saw spins at around 1400rpm and cuts cold, clean with out walking the blade. An abrasive chop saw cuts at around 3200rpm is loud very hot and Slow. Abrasive saws are like $99.00. Porter cable and so on.
