I am 62 years old and my sweetest and mot cherished memories are those times spent with my aunt and uncle on their farm. They inspired me, but starting was a problem but with an income of $57k monthly I was able to. My first year farming generated us $142k here in Tynan, TX. We never looked back, agriculture (ranch farming) is a gold mine

Hi Tom, your dad so reminds me of my own late dad who was a water authority engineer for 29 years, he was out putting in water mains, repairing burst’s pipes over the years. When he eventually went into the stores to issue new parts to different crew members. Dad would look at the tickets and he could pass on valuable information about the area they are working at to what possible issues they may face. With age comes experience and knowledge and dad always went above and beyond to help them fix these issues, as he would bring back the big work box lorry and at 1/2 am in the morning “ warning this vehicle is reversing “ this used to be laughing joke we had with dad over the years. Only a selection of neighbours were told the night before so not to have a shock In the earlier hours. Happy fond memories of my late dad😂

Great video. Wow using the machine to clean the trough’s was a real time and back saver! I love Tilley, she the most beautiful sweet cow around. What number will this calf be? I miss seeing her hear you talking and making a video for us and her squeezing through the herd to come see you and lick on you! Lol. What a great cow she has been. Mr. Pemberton, it is wonderful seeing you out there mastering those darn field drains. You are so incredible to listen to, you explain things so well. If you weren’t a farmer I think you would have been a fantastic teacher! Have a great weekend Pemberton’s and team!❤❤

My guess. The bad silage in the bottom would make the good silage on top go off quicker , so intakes would be lower,hence the calves didn’t do as well as expected. Otherwise a great video as usual.

If you wrap the plastic pipe with terram it will filter the soil from the water before it gets in the pipe and then use gravel on top it will drain much quicker than using just soil.
@JohntyNich
@JohntyNich 4 күн бұрын
Some drainage specialists point out that it is soil dependent and putting Terram in heavy clay/silty soils clogs the terram preventing the drain working. The gravel becomes the drain but it’s a lot less effective. I believe there is a test you can do to see if it would clog or not. I’m no expert and if it’s working for yourself, crack on 👍

You've never covered vermin control. Do you allow shooters on the farm for rabbit, pheasant, duck, fox and those pesky deer? Also since winters approaching, is the shed heated or does the cattle body heat keep it warm enough to not require heating. Just wondering since it's so open. My local farm is enclosed with automatic shutters that lift and lower.

Do you think that switching to automatic feed robots could reduce wastage whilst keeping feed levels stable throughout the day as the show room could provide the perfect area whilst saving time and money though labour and feeder cost with you looking at larger feed mixers whilst being restricted within the yard turning spaces

Do you feel that once you have built a new calf building could the space the existing shed is potentially be developed into a cafe with the surrounding fields being utilised for additional attractions I.e a playground with dairy farm associated learning games;whilst having gum ball machines with feed for the highlands, sheep or goats that get placed in adjacent fields given via pipes feeding to feed troughs. Whilst offering the potential to book demonstrations of butchery and milking. Whilst offering the opportunity to name young heifers that get added to the herd with monthly updates as to how they perform during their journey. Or creating a wall near the car park where people can add a picture commemorating their visit whilst if you can show proof of being a follower on social media you unlock a 10% discount within the farm shop along with notified early for any event to where Tom invites people down for special occasions such as turn out.

@ryanwibberley7186
@ryanwibberley7186 3 күн бұрын
I feel that the area where the silage bails get stored could be idea for a new calf building with it only needing a roof and pen structure being built whilst keeping it close to the parlour whilst leaving the dry cow shed for young stock before they get moved over to home farm whilst freeing up space for a new dry cow/ maternity shed with custom built pens where cows are held during calving possibly with cameras installed so that expectant cows can be monitored without being disturbed too much with the cameras being a possibility to capture footage around the farm during basic daily tasks so that there could be videos showing what’s gone on at the farm that could be released as a bts vid or a timelapsed update every Sunday or possibly for if you create a second channel where blooper clips or footage that Luke, the girls or the farm shop staff capture if you leave them with cameras
