Great info. Something they never taught us in the Corps (1973-1976) was anything tactical. Everything was from known distance, with the emphasis on qualification. My dad, Gysgt USMC (1950-1969) taught me what marksmanship was and the Corps did focus on that too but, tactical stuff, the science of shooting, all the stuff that you are teaching today was not mentioned once. Thank you for these videos. For someone that lives thousands of miles from Arizona, they are the next best thing to being in one of your classes. I appreciate it.

Great advice. My son's baseball coach used to say "PERFECT practice makes perfect". Build the proper muscle memory, don't waste ammo.

dry fire. if you cant "dry" at home looking at a place on the wall. draw and point. and if you dont see them irons in position. that trigger pull will never help and will make you spend money.

I don't do 300-400 round range sessions. Cost, time, energy, mental and physical fatigue are all factors. Less is more and more, is just more.

Great stuff!! I’m onboard with the dry fire practice, much easier to get 20 minutes of dry fire for me a day than get to the range. I LOVE range trips but I don’t live there. I will be looking for some good dry fire practice drills!

I am always blown away with the level of instruction and advice that you provide on this channel. The one comment that I will add is that I have found the G-Sight laser cartridge to be extremely effective in dry fire. I would love to see how you recommend how best you use this tool.

I’m starting to notice that the gun itself is playing a large part in the return I get per rounds spent or time dry firing. I love my Glocks but I have to work so freaking hard to stay in the black at speed. Whereas I can pick up a PDP or a 1911/2011 and not need anywhere near as much time behind the gun to score better at drills. This is not a new phenomenon, I’ve been shooting Glock’s since 1985! Not just picking on Glock’s, the HK line of pistols requires me to try a lot harder to get similar results I could get with another platform. Even with the Beretta line, switch to a vertec grip and instantly I’m doing better for less effort.

Just for the H&K's you might get better results with a lighter recoil spring if we're talking about follow up shots. They should usually come with quite a stiff spring cause they're set up for stronger nato specs. That strong spring might also induce some dip from the slide returning while a lighter one will have it'll stay a bit longer in the back. There is a big buffet so choose what works well for you not that makes you work extra hard. A good grip wins competitions.
