What is the smaller ground pod that you showed in your video? Not the skimmer but the one that’s approximately 4 inches wide? Do you have a link for that?

Hi Fabian! Is that the Ebro Delta? I will go there in July, which zones do you recommend for shorebirds and other birds. I have a Canon R7 with the EF 100-400mm II, so I don't know if I will be able to get decent photos of the birds as I see that you were sometimes at 840mm. Thank you!!!

Thanks! Yes, it is. I was mostly in the South, but I had the impression that the beaches in general were very good. Have fun!

Using a tripid head with the skimmer pod can defeat the purpose sometimes. A useful combination is to just lay a bean bag in the skimmer and rest the camera on that. You then have the low angle of the bean bag but with a means of moving it around the sand without gathering any sand/muck on the bag and hence onto the camera/lens. I have tried this with an old frying pan (much, much cheaper than a skimmer😊) and bean bag and it works very well. Good video.

Yes, I was thinking about trying the bean bag solution for the next beach-session! I also had a frying pan before, but the weight was a bit of an issue, especially when travelling by plane

You know those thin plastic bags that are used for fruit and veg at the supermarket? I use one of those to keep sand and rain out of my camera! And they are absolutely free!

I have used shower caps when doing landscape photography. But they are a bit too small for my 600/4
