Let me make something else very clear!! The only reason why I have given hair growth advice is because a lot of people would ask me how I grew out my shaved sides and how I grew my hair after cutting it. This video is long but all of this needed to be said!! Don't let the message go over your head. Here's the link to my vlog channel: www.youtube.com/@MonaBUncut

I had to search this up because I’m tired of the rudeness from other BW . I’m 31 years old and I don’t seem to get along with majority if not all BW in the workspace and outside . I literally have 1 black female friends. It’s like the minute they see me , they hate me . I’m on the verge of wanting to quit my job, whether or not I’m nice and kind to them I’m always greeted with attitudes.

It's total jealousy. I watched an interview many years ago, where a black man own a pizza place in a neighboring town and was getting ready to buy another place. He said he couldn't tell the black people in his neighborhood because they would target him and destroy what he's made. He said the attitude was if they don't have it, he shouldn't. Yet he was busting his ass to make something of himself, and he said his neighbors were not working hard to have the same things. That's a super sad way to live. To have to hide his success because of the jealousy of his neighbors.

As a black woman whose lived and traveled to different countries and different communities I believe a lot of black women that grow up in Urban areas, go to public schools and who aren't raised with both parents that are loving and supportive, tend to gravitate towards lower frequency/ toxic behavior patterns and communication styles.

I’m so glad you spoke on this. Our community loves to promote “Black sisterhood” but it is fraught with hostility and resentment. It’s a lot of fake love out here, especially when it comes to hair and beauty. Thank you for speaking your mind. ❤

Literallly, a few days ago I was in a client meeting and there was only me and one other black women there, so I was really excited to meet her since the field I work in is predominantly white men. I got up and introduced myself to her and put my hand out for a handshake and you should've seen her face she just looked at me with disgust and didn't even fully grasp my hands, just by the finger tips. I was so upset I had to call my mum on the phone afterwards.

This is so true. A lot of the BS I have had to deal with has come from my own people, ironically. They will complain about racism but not even think about learning to be kind to their own people. We need to stick together yet some of them are acting like clowns and being so rude for no good reason.😒🙄 Also, some of you don't respect boundaries and understand personal space.

I went to an hbcu and had a lot of weird experiences like this. Honestly black men are just as bad. I was wearing shorts in the summer once and some guy called me a “whore” infront of his girlfriend. As an "Older Black Woman" I feel the need to comment. I HATE that Blacks, particularly women, don't support one another. We are the only race that DOES NOT SUPPORT each other! It is sad! I am so glad that I found you when I decided to big chop. I didn't know what I was doing because I was brainwashed my entire life thinking that black women were not beautiful unless they had long, straight hair. You taught me a lot! Like some of your other supporters I didn't know that I could style my hair in different styles. I still watch your old videos because after my 3rd big chop I am just bored wearing my twa without being in a cute style...and yes I know rocking my twa naturally is a style in itself. You have inspired me so much! I am glad that you addressed this because it needs to be said. Some people are just so miserable that they want to project it on everyone who isn't like them. We have the power to rebuke all of that negativity. Let them live their miserable lives. I have said it before and will continue to say it but I just cant understand why we cant support one another. I am helping to raise to beautiful black granddaughters and I want them to always know that they are beautiful no matter what, especially when dealing with their natural hair. I applaud you so please keep inspiring others! Don't let these old bitter bitties get you out of character...Just delete and block. In the kind words of Michelle Obama..."When they go low, We go HIGH!" Love ya Sis♥

Thank you for making this video! I realized this a long time ago and most people brush it off like it’s not a thing. Especially when it comes to hair black women want to tear others down. If someone has healthy or long hair people immediately start trying to tear that person down. They get jealous when they see curl patterns, length, and healthy hair that they want for themselves. The natural hair community has become extremely toxic. I can’t watch one video without disgusting comments. Thanks for addressing this because it really happens. Even the comments in this video specifically have people trying to defend others bad comments. You’re gorgeous and I wish you the best ❤

I have to comment on this video, because I don’t think you understand how you’ve paved the way for black woman to have self love for there natural hair. For me personally I started with doing a big chop into a twa. I came across your page and I never knew it was even possible to have the hair styles that you’ve posted. I was able to find self love and loving my natural hair because you’ve helped me to achieve this. Now I’m loc’d but if I hadn’t had that self love and enjoy my twa hair I don’t think I would have been able to enjoy the different stages of the loc stage. From one black woman to another don’t stop posting because you never know who you will touch. You give inspiration keep thriving queen!!!

We can't control how other people perceive us but we can control how we respond and react. Again respects to you,other people's perceptions are on them, and reveal their insecurities and has nothing to do with us. Their projections and issues are squarely on them🙌🙏

Some black wo/men treat everything as some weird competition and that their own issues, I personally thought I was doomed to not be able to grow my hair and have it look good and you proved I could. I’ve been told my whole life by other black people I just didn’t have good hair even though we had the same type of hair and I don’t know why but in general it’s hard for some other black people to see other black people do good Or feel good.

I ain’t even gone lie you DEFINITELY inspired me. There was NO ONE that looked like me or had my hair texture on KZbin when I decided to go natural, Just a bunch of curly haired, light skin women who been natural their whole life in the first place. This natural hair movement wasn’t made for y’all, SORRY, but it was for us, the brown skin girls who were called nappy headed and felt like we had to hide under relaxers and wigs to feel pretty. I have been following you for years, and I have locs now and I STILL watch your videos, because I have grown to just like you as a person. Don’t let the haters get to you and I know that’s easier said than done, but GOD clearly has your back, because you are on this platform STILL reppin for us and all the trolls will continue to be bitter in the comments. I heard a saying, you ain’t doing it right if you don’t have any haters… so girl you doing good lol‼️ Keep it up those that love you, still love you. ❤

First of all, you look beautiful:) and it’s true! But I’m a writer and I’ve been writing an article about this recently and I’ll do a video about it later in the year maybe. Baby Girl! I feel you and really wish things weren't the way they are. Unfortunately, slavery and colonialism has done a number on black people that I don't think can be corrected. I've been doing big chops since 1991. I've been gawked at, assumed to be a lesbian, praised for my bravery, and everything in between. All I was doing was doing my hair the way I felt like at whatever time. The internet has been a blessing and a curse. We are able to share knowledge, but some people are so miserable and have to much self-hatred that they feel the need to try to drag people into their misery. I'm proud of you for making this video. We know that some won't "get it", but hopefully the ones that needed this message will get it. Keep doing what you do. Might I add that this is not just an issue in our community. The same things happen amongst other races. Humans are just terrible.

I've been a subscriber to your channel for a couple of years and I watched your videos here and there. I think you gave into the negativity when there is so much more positivity. It's kind of un professional. What about all the black women that like your videos and compliment you, instead you made a huge generalization and in short you became just like the people that leave negative comments on your video. You're onto bigger things why pay attention to a bunch of strangers. I think you are triggered, asking you about the length of your hair is not rude or disrespectful. This video takes away from your channel, I wouldn't leave it on here for long.
@MonaB2 жыл бұрын
I think this whole video went over your head. There is no such thing as being un professional on a channel that is meant to show someone’s craft and personality. I’m not here for professionalism. This is the internet! If me being myself is unprofessional so be it. I’m here to speak truth, something that we don’t do much in our community. It’s easy for a person on the outside looking in not to understand. Even if I am triggered by the comments, I’m a human not a robot and should be treated like such. I’m not going to let people bully me online. We have to do better as black people. I was also showcasing how darker complexed people get treated in society and on the internet.
