Getting to Montserrat

We leave the bitter cold of Quebec's winter and head to Montserrat in the Caribbean. Our trip is home from Montreal airport to Antigua, and from Antigua we take a small plane to Monserrat. It was a long and stressfull day due to a storm in Montreal which made us take off close to 2 hours late. The next few videos will show more of the island.

Four years later and your video showed up on my feed. I was lucky enough to visit Montserrat with my parents and sister in Jan of 1981. I was a junior in HS (yeah, I'm that old), and my grandma and step grandpa had a winter place there. This was before Mt. Soufriere Hills blew it's top and destroyed a portion of the Island - including the quaint town of Plymouth. Such a beautiful Island with friendly people, and I trust you had a wonderful time there...

I hope and pray that that Monsterrat can have a new Airport built.,so much people would love to fly Direct...but Antigua is Equally beautiful

Yes having a direct flight would make it easier and probably cheaper also. However, it did permit us to visit Antigua for a couple of hours on the way back.

Please move to 5:59. This is a yam tuber cultivated in India. It is rich in protein and carbs. This is called Karande in local language. We boil and then peel off hard skin. Then Yam is cut into cubes. We eat these cubes sprinkled with pepper and salt. or we fry it

please keep the island isolated and insulated from the rest of the world. It does not need a larger airport as this brings tourists and tourists in their thousands ruin the peace & tranquility; just look what tourism has done to Antigua or even Mallorca in the Med. I was at Maccu Piccu in the 1970ies, a wonderful place then, now you can´t move for bloody tourists, six, yes six million of them cramm all over the site; the Inca Trail then was an expedition through the jungle, now its a damned motorway of yes you guessed it....bloody tourists; my apologies for the coarse language. Limited numbers are acceptable but thousands just destroy the ambience.
