So right about the difference from the U.S. train system compared to anywhere else. We stay in suite hotels all the time. Especially if when we had our hooligans with us, "kids" and even now as adults. Depending on who's going. We've done 5 in 1 room. Thankfully we all get along even as adults lol. I'm sure the taste of McDonalds anywhere else is different than what it's like in the states. Other countries are MUCH more less "additives and preservatives" than here. Poutine is SO good in Canada. YUM YUM YUM.

Looks like you two had a good time. Except for the Greyhound bus from Montreal, we did too. It was a huge plus getting our room when we arrived in Boston and could rest up. Unfortunately, our visit to one of Boston's attractions (prepaid) was derailed by the Celtics parade. MS Volendam was such fun, but for a 60 year old who went Tandem skydiving on his birthday in September, it was a bit tame, so this January we're giving MSC a try, on board the Meraviglia in New York. Taking the Go Train from Barrie to Niagara Falls (and an overnight), the Amtrak Maple Leaf to New York ($60 US per person one way, coach), and the same way in reverse coming home. You can catch the Maple Leaf in Toronto, but when we booked, coach one way was $178 US. Oh, and our MSC (Aurea experience, balcony cabin, pre-paid gratuities, NASA excursion, complete insurance, and drink package) is $1500 less than the Boston to Montreal cruise.

Sounds like a wonderful trip! We loved taking the train to our cruise. Sailing out of New York is wonderful.

@CruisingCanucks have you taken Amtrak before? It's our first time, but I'm looking forward to leg and foot rests. Hubby is looking forward to the leg room. And an actual café car (I haven't seen one since traveling in the 70's). just have to be sure the food we bring across the border is allowable.

QUESTION... ?? Do you have to pay extra for the food and beverages (including the adult beverages) while traveling by train? COMMENT.... James and I do not need to fly to Europe to see castles and such, we just need to explore Canada which we will very close too very soon! GOOGLED "Paint my butt purple and call me George Bell" the definition was It basically means, "No way!" or "That's amazing!" or "Oh my God, really?!" I believe it originated from Southern American slang from just looking at it. It probably was used since you can't really "butter your butt" (haha) and call yourself a biscuit, neither can you roll yourself in corn-flour and call yourself dinner, nor paint your purple and call yourself Barney. All of these are not possible, which is why it means, "You're kidding!" This paragraph was Google's definition. NOTRE DAME - Growing up in Indiana, the only Notre Dame I was aware of is the College of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. The home of the "Fighting Irish" After watching mutiple vlogs of Europe, there is a lot more than one! COMMENT - You two make us so tired, we cannot keep up with your exciting energy! Love this video!

@@CruisingCanucks : Do try out the Rocky Mountaineer! I recommend their first passage to the west route for beginners. We did that route with A group. If you have the money, Do gold leaf! That’s their first class. You sit on the upper level and eat your meals on the lower level. Bar opens at 10am each day! You won’t be disappointed on the food you eat! It’s better than any cruise ship. You’ll overnight at Kamloops. If you’re put up at the Delta hotel there, be warned! You’ll have one of the smallest bathrooms you’ll ever see. Let me put it this way, no matter if you’re going in or out, the door in and out is always going to hit you.
