Great video, thanks guys! I agree with Paul that taking responsibility is # 1 even when those around us are not taking responsibility, in fact ESPECIALLY when they're not. this idea is great; I'd add this next step: accepting that we can learn from EVERYONE, not just ourselves and those we like learning from. Anxiety goes way down in an instant. This realization works for me in one on one conversations, public speaking and everything in between. it connects me to others instead of reinforcing a feeling of being separated and ultimately fearful of that same connection. Out of myself and into the real world.

Taking responsibility for ourselves is so fundamental. Our culture is so self absorbed and the attitude of constantly trying to blame others is destructive. We end up trapped by trying to blame others. And absorption in feeling is destructive as I know. Do what is right instead of allowing my feeling to trap me and I feel much better and less isolated.

Paul Nurmi well said. I agree. it's quite easy for me to lose sight of what's truly important - letting go and being present in the moment.

I love my dog. I find myself asking myself why I am so triggered when he whines. I find myself blowing up and yelling at him when he whines. Now I think I understand that the sound of his whining is a sensory overload for me. Am I right?

I’m no expert but I think so. I don’t have Aspergers but my husband does. I do, however, have REALLY bad anxiety and I find myself yelling at my cat (who also has anxiety!) whenever she starts whining but in reality, that just makes it worse for both of us! So, I’ve started just calmly petting her whenever she does it and it actually works wonders for BOTH of our anxieties! So, I know it’s frustrating but it will make him whine less if you are calm with him. AND by petting him, it will also calm you down as well. It works both ways! I hope this helps. Just give it a try. He might actually be feeding off of your feelings or he just might want attention, but either way. 🤷‍♀️
