They didnt miss anything on hail to the king. Drummer was told to keep it simple and grooving and that's exactly what he did. His real talent shined on carry on and not ready to die.

I know Syn's solos throw you off, but that is what I like about his sound. He's not trying to follow "normal" patterns, he likes to experiment a lot. That is what I love about his style

I read an interview with him and Zacky. Apparently Syn is always reading musical theory books and practicing and Zacky gets annoyed because he writes co-lead parts that are too hard for him to learn.

the little solo at the beginning took me forever to pin down, the hardest part is going from the full tapping to tapping the trill across different strings lmao. it's weird at first but once you get the "flow" down it's so smooth and satisfying

Hello fellow guitarist here. That comment you made at about 7:10ish is exactly why I can't play anything other than Avenged Sevenfold. Syn gets a lot of his ideas and stuff for solos and songs from Jazz actually. He's a huge Jazz fan and because of that nothing makes sense and he's really just a jazz/metal hybrid

Yeah, A7X is just too good at what they make, especially Syn. This entire album has some of the craziest, most fluid, soulful guitar work I've heard from him, my favorite piece being the solo off "Creating God" or any of the flowing solos from "Exist." Truly mindblowing composition.
