I had four plant in autopots all fed from the same reservoir. One was gonna finish wayyyy ahead of the others so I started asking for advice and I kinda came to the conclusion that flushing is not even necessary. I saw a really good video about a study that was done on flushing and that study determined no difference in the final product.

Doesn’t matter if you choose photo or auto, soilless or organic. Patience and careful attention are required for both. There’s no exact method that produces the same results every time, that’s just not a practical way to think about it. Expect and even more so, welcome failure. If I were to give one bit of advice that works for everyone, keep a daily journal (a hard copy not digital) and write down everything you do each day. Then when something happens, you have a better chance at spotting where the failure happened and what caused it.

I am relatively new to growing. I got extremely lucky with my first lot - 10 z off 3, but my second grow was less than 1z off two. The second grow didn't even get shade leaves and the rest of the leaves turned yellow after about 4 weeks. I think it was because I was under the impression that you don't need to feed when growing in soil for the first 6 weeks because of the nutrients in the soil. I didn't realise that autos are extremely hungry. The grow I'm doing now is a week old and I'm already feeding with Biobizz nutes and following their feeding schedule. I'm hoping I will get a better crop this time around.

there is a lot of reasons some soils like happyfrog only last 3 weeks but then ocean forest can last 6 weeks and then you have to factor in how hungry or big the plant gets and if you are having runoff, you are losing some nutes also any ways good luck with your grow Tc.

Light on nutes the first 2 weeks 1/4 strength. Then half strength after 2 weeks on veg nutes. Feed, water, water feed. Preflower stretch 1/4 dose veg, 1/4 dose bloom. Week into flower with little cotton balls, then bloom feed half strength till 2 weeks before harvest. Then straight water. Always pH water 5.5-7.0 is fine. You finally gave me an answer to my wondering wonder, which is why do my all my grows yellow out 2nd week into flower, extra cal/mag. I had it in mind, just didn't want to over do on cal/mag. Now I know I'm safe to use more because the led grow lights. What is your thought on manganese co-adverting with cal/mag? Is Azomite for manganese readily available.

My first grow is going well, I’ve made it mid flower with healthy plants. But i have noticed some yellowing so this came just in time!

It is OK IF LEAVES ARE TURNING YELLOW DURING MID-LATE FLOWER! The plants do not need the nitrogen anymore.. and if your plants can use up ALL of the nitrogen before the are at the end of flower that is GOOD!! A lot of growers actually strip the leaves off before going into flower but I just defoliate ½ of my leaves off leaving some so I can watch the leaves to know when the plant has used up all or most of the nitrogen at a perfect time so better tasting bud!!! I just pick off 2 or 3 leaves every couple days that are 90% yellowing so that the plant can go to the next few leaves for the nitrogen with me knowing that they will be done in a couple weeks and have used up as much as they can before harvest! I also stop feeding the plants any nutrients at all at least 2 weeks before harvest time unless they 100% need something really bad.. and then flush at least one week before harvesting by dunking the pots into a tote full with tap water that I filled maybe 4 or 5 days before and I let the plants suck up as much as they can and then put them on a grate or in a large strainer and then i run some qater through the soil until it is coming out the bottom and then just tip the plants and let them totally drain out and then just let it dry out for a few days to a full week before going to your dark period if you do one.. or your harvest.. whichever method you use.. as long as the plant can dry up! This is just my 2 cents... but I have and still am doing a lot of side by side comparison all inside of one grow testing just about EVERYTHING YOU COULD.. and I have these side by side tests done inside of the same grow.. with a few plants of several different strains and test different methods out on the different strains!! I aim to yest as much as i can and weed out all of the bs! If anyone is interested, we have a ton of testing going on inside of our 5x5 setup that was only $500.. Start at 1ml to a liter of water for 1st week then up to 2ml,2nd week. 3ml 3rd week, 4ml 4th week. Stay at 4ml till the end of run. Don't play with different mixes it don't work out you will have issue. Follow what the company says n that's it for an easy grow. I sware by the stuff, n I'm a knucklehead so that says allot. Guaranteed never to burn out have issues.

If you are growing Auto's in 5 gal/fabric pots (in a 4 x 4 grow tent), during the 1st 3 weeks, how much water do you provide? Growing medium is organic soil. PH adjusted at time of watering to 6.1 - 6.3.

Start with a little poured around the base of the stem...and increase the amount and spread as the days progress. Buy week 3 you should be upto about half to three quarters of a litre with all the substrate being moist. For checking moisture level...I use a long wooden kebab stick. push it right to bottom of pot, leave for a few seconds, and pull out. you'll see the moisture on it, Or put it to your lip for a finer reading.

Dr A: Thanks for the reccomendation about measuring DLI and the App (Photone)! As I said below, in a 4 x 4 grow tent I have 5 autos. My DLI is right on target for week 3 EXCEPT the plant centered right below the middle of my LED light(s). The center plant has over double the needed DLI (measures about 64 - S/B around 25. Any suggestions? Rotate the plants frequently? Thanks!

If anyone is using those little USB fans that are nice for a small space being a low power small footprint device plugged into power strips with USB plugs. HOWEVER.... please note if you use these, *they do not turn back on automatically after a power outage*. So adding one permanently powered fan just in case of outage is a good idea if using these where you can have outages.

Fabric pots for flushing , I was told to dunk the fabric pot in a bucket of water and let drain it suppose to flush faster. I haven't tried it yet ,just wondering have you heard of doing that. Thank you , new grower.

Having this issue with some poison berry autos from crop kings.they are pretty big autos.anyways I'm 50 days in on them and all the bigger fan leaves and now the littler fan leaves on the inside branches are turning yellow.

You might need to water till you get some run off then check the ppm if its high then its not lacking any nutes then check the ph should be between 6 or 7 if not you may have a lockout.

Chlorine in tap water is evaporated out when it exits the faucet almost completely. 48 hours is way overkill, 24 is more than enough. If you use a stir pump, churn it for 5 minutes and chlorine is gone

No.. but Coast of Maine, Stonington Blend is great. So is Indicanja. Then top dress with Gia Green 444, and worm castings in vege. Then Gia Green 444 and 284, and some bone meal a couple weeks before flower. That'll get you some nice flavorful buds.

@@antroy8181 r u actually that dumb or are you pretending for my amusement? lol. mh is for veg and hps is for flower. guess you'd change the bulb when you put your plants into flower. or, if you insist on wasting time with autos, when you see the first pistils. i hope you're at least using ceramic metal halide lamps, they're much more energy efficient than traditional ones. they still suck of course, you could have found all that out with a 10 second google search.

So I just did a run of some ethos genetics the banana daddy autos turned out great. But I got some freebie seeds with called ethos cookies. And there cookies strain has been the biggest auto I've ever seen. Almost 5 ft tall and probly 5 foot around! Would love to see what you could do with that strain. It's definitely an auto that you could top due to it's long veg time. I actually had to flip to 12 12 to get it to flower lol.

LOL. NOT AN AUTOFLOWER. the defining characteristic of autoflowers is that you don't have to adjust their photoperiod. if you had to adjust the photoperiod to get it to flower, IT IS NOT AN AUTO.

Make sure to pH your water between 5.5 and 6.5 and increase the humidity, during veg around 70% is better

I have a question. If your in a state that allows growing why are you growing auto flowers. I'm sure there are some with good genetics but it's hard to get the rhoderalis (sp) out of there completely. Is it ease of not having to do anything to start flowering. It just seems like there's no way to get the plant big enough in Veg to be great at flowering

The main reason I grow autos is so I can grow more, faster. I'm looking for the perfect strain for me. Autos stay small so I can grow a few more in a smaller space. Once I find a strain I really enjoy, I will be growing photos of it.

I get 5-7 oz dry weight (not including trim) per plant in 10 weeks seed to harvest with autos in 16l pots and coco. I get to grow the newest trains as they come out and don't need mother plants. Autos have good THC CBD and terpene levels these days. And I get to pack up and not be a slave to the grow and take holidays. Then just add water, and all good to go again

I use Pro-Mix HP and had yellow leaves. I stopped using Voodoo juice because the HP mix comes with Mycorrhizae. No more yellow leaves. I follow your feeding instructions but don't use Voodoo Juice. I don't flush my plants and I don't reuse the Pro-mix HD. I can't tell the difference in taste. I read an article that said the plants uptake is one way trip and the plant only uses what it uptakes and does not store anything. Feeding water will starve the plant. So the last few weeks the plant starves to death. Thank you for all your info on growing.

If the leaves don't fade, then there is still lots of Chlorophyll in the plant and it won't smoke as well. I use advanced, and when I didn't flush It took months to eventually cure the harshness out of it.

@@professor4202 That depends on the type of additives in the nutes, but as flushing doesn't reduce yield, Then it's no disadvantage to flush and will allow for the Chlorophyll, to leave the leaves. Green leaves = Chlorophyll.

Hey Dude I use promix and I am getting yellow leaves at week 6 on auto flower plants outside. Have not added anything but worm dressing across top at 3 wks and 5 wks. 2 big autos with tops they have yellowing leaves the other 5 are budding and look great but all treated the same. If you have time I would love your opinion, I am just starting, my 3rd yr. But haven't run into nutrient deficiencies so I know I have to do something but don't want to damage worse Thank you
