I passed my class 2 few months ago and haven't even done 1 days work, over 35 current jobs i've applied for and agency won't help all because they won't accept drivers with no experience they want 2 years minimum but pay barely over minimum wage, the email I get bk from most places are shocking, rude and belittling god knows how they treat their staff

Same situation here mate 👍 thanks for mentioning taskmaster phoned them. Alot of agency's not taking on newbies because of insurance. Like you say might as well be straight with them though there making money too

Just passed the class 2 and it's a bit daunting as now need to remember all the tacho stuff. Spoke to a delivery driver today who came to my place of work and asked him his recommendations where to begin. He told me tipper and refuse work.

I think I need to put a bit more effort into agencies. I've signed up with a couple but haven't heard back from them yet, I might give them a ring and ask questions. I passed on 2nd June and I had to wait a bit before I could start applying for jobs because I had a bit of a wait before I could do my CPC part 4. I'm currently unemployed and not able to run a car right now, which makes it even more difficult as I'm also looking for something relatively local.

For anyone wondering, I did start doing class 1 work with an agency for a few months, and then got hired full time by the agency client. On £40k a year now, working roughly 50 hour weeks, sometimes up to 65 hours with overtime. I consider myself pretty lucky.

I'm currently in-between jobs and I've always wanted to get my class 1 so im going to go for it i think. It's just getting that first bit of work. Not far from you in Yorkshire 👍🏼

Thanks mate. Yeh things seem hard at the min :/ If you give TaskMaster a call in Wakey they do all type of work over Yorkshire. One of my mates tried when he had just passed and got him a permanent position in Huddersfield where he lives. Say Dave Sykes recommended you :)

Try the local council on the bin trucks as a driver it's how I began and now I'm class 1

If you aren’t sorted yet mate try the best connection group Barnsley branch, ask for Liam. Passed my class 1 on the 6th of December and they got me some weekend work alongside my normal job. Could be worth a shot lad

Just passed class 1 few weeks ago can’t find a job around watford. All asking experience. Don’t mind to travel 10 miles range from watfors

Can I keep my full time job (35 hours Mon-Friday) whilst doing agency work in the evenings and weekends? Pretty sure tacho rules won't allow that?

Nah you wouldn’t be able to do that. That would be dangerous big time. Could do on your holidays from the other work ect.

can I go straight to class 1 ? I am interested in class 1 and not class 2. I heard that the government changed the rules and with a car licence people can go straight to class 1. is that true ? Do you recomment that ?

Yeah, might as well go straight to class 1 because then you're qualified to do class 2 when you pass.
