Hey JP thanks bud love the these up date on new equipment or remake . I think this company has really really pushed the envelope on giving the customer a rod that is 10 times better then what they are asking for price. And that expride B's that is the best fishing rod on the market that you could buy from a company at the price schimino is asking. Trust me JP I've been doing homework for over 3yrs trying to find a company that really is building something special and that's SCHIMINO . You can not get more for your money with any other rod companies. The curado zodias expride and the poison adrena are the best rods for your money that you could possibly get on the market. And I've checked out alot of custom rod companies and NOBODY is building rod's like schimino is . this company really put a lot of thought into building the curado zodias expride and the poison adrena rod's. . And the curado with those fazlite inserts man that's the slickest inserts you can get for guides. Witch means your going to be able to. Get outstanding distance and accuracy when casting. Don't underestimate that curado rod it's legit.

It means the rod doesn't center itself as fast. That's called the action of the rod... A stiff rod usually has faster action, which means it snaps back straight quickly

But I do know that a lot of people like the 7ft Medium Expride. Lots of people go with that. I haven’t tried Levante rods yet. I have a Zodias and it feels very nice. Not as sensitive as the Orochi but it still gets the work done. I don’t really have a say if the Orochi is better than Expride but I think Exprides are the best bang for the buck. Have my eye on the 6’8” or 6’10 MH for swim jigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, maybe even some light frogging. Question: I love me a somewhat moderate tip that loads well for accurate casting. But worried that sub-7’ models lose a bit of that tip flexibility? That warranted or do you think the shorter rods will work for me? (Zodias or Expride). Thanks, and I’m no longer in the 90% bracket!

Tough to find a sub 7' rod with enough power for those techniques that have the parabolic bend that glass gives. I have tried the 7'2" MHGB model and it does a good job but a high speed reel is recommended to keep tight. I find it tough to beat a Medium Heavy, Fast action blank for those techniques because the hook diameter is rather large in the baits. JP, I love the Expride 7' Med, maybe my favorite all around spinning rod at any price. Ridiculously sensitive and light. That said, I was looking at the new Zodias 7'6" spinning rod, wonder if you believe that would be a good hair jig rod, where sensitivity isn't as important as castability, which is needed to get the hair jig away from the boat. There are two models, a light power and a medium power, thoughts on which one would be a better hair jig rod for smallmouth? Thanks again for the content, great stuff. Look forward to your reply.

JP - all of your videos are done so well - your passion translates along with solid info. Thank you! This was spinning, but I have decided to try one casting outfit for grass pitching (taking a page from Seth Feider), using a MH power rod (fast) with braid line. Normally I go straight FC. I have been eyeing over the 7'2 MH Casting in the Expride and the Zodias. Cost is less the issue, but I think with maybe 30# braid to 17# FC leader, a softer tip (even though fast action) might be better than a stiffer one. Is there a noticeable difference in the tip sections of these 2 models? And on these casting rods which rate up to an ounce - do you feel they can handle a 3/4oz jig or T-rig, or maybe only 5/8th? Thanks for your help!
@JPDeRoseOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Appreciate the kudos Bruce. I lean towards more parabolic rods when using braid over fluoro for flipping and pitching as I find the extra bend helps not rip the hook out of the fish. The difference between the Expride and the Zodias is the carbon they use. Expride is lighter and a bit faster than the Zodias in the same model. That said, I would have no issues using either for your mentioned application however for sensitivity, the new Zodias with the Monocoque handle may have an advantage over the current Expride and most likely would be easier to find as Expride has been very scarce for some time due to popularity.
