The Countess of Wessex had just completed a 5-day 450-mile cycling challenge from Edinburgh to London, with the Finish Line being Buckingham Palace. Sophie was met at the end by supporters and her husband Prince Edward, who gave her a diamond pin to mark her completion of the Diamond Challenge. The countess and her team began the ride at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland. The ride raised more than £180,000 for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, which in 2016 celebrated its 60th anniversary.

This is so beautiful. I love this family. Prince Edward, out of all the Queen's children, married a woman who was willing to put her all into the working for the Royal Family and for many years going unnoticed. I am so glad that both Edward and Sophie are getting the recognition they deserve and are the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. Prince Philip would be very proud of his youngest son Prince Edward.

This is such a beautiful moment. I almost cried watching young James latch on to his mom with such a heartfelt hug. So touching, loving. Sophie let him cuddle her gor as long as he needed .
