Impressed by just how good the weather was for you entire trip. Not explored Skye as it is a bit too touristy for our tastes on land, but wouldn't mind paddling around the Island to see the Coastline and the wildlife that lives there. I just need to build up the experience in Sea Kayaking before attempting such a trip, As I have only just bought a Kayak after years of having a Sit on Top that I have paddled a bit on the South Coast of Mull.

Great trip, very nice. Thanks for sharing. I have to ask a question if you don’t mind. Do all three of you know how to roll, right? I wonder what is the necessary self-rescue skill, such as rolling, needed for a long like this 6-day trip. Thanks
@getwet501 Жыл бұрын
Thanks.. indeed we would all be confident in our roll, but the best skills are not to have to roll, good support strokes and experience generally would mean the need to roll is rare.

Great watch. Quick question, how does the berghaus cairngorm 2 tent work as a tent for sea kayaking trips in uk (especially if storm bound)? Normally use a quasar, but looking for something with a big porch for solo trips. Thanks.
@getwet5012 жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm a big fan of the Cairngorm 2, it has great usable space for a fairly small ish foot print and weight. Ive not had it up in gale force winds , but had a couple of nights in 30 mph ish and it was very stable. The only down side, i did have problems with a couple of cracked poles, but they were replaced, and it seems fine since. I suspect id been a bit careless putting it up. I do carry a spare length now though just in case.
