GFI System Specular Tempus (Using 1 Algorithm For P&W Reverb & Delay)

GFI System Specular Tempus is one of the highly sought after Delay Reverb pedals in the market for praise & worship tones. In this video, we sought to use only 1 hybrid algorithm to create different reverb and delay settings. Reason being, similar algorithm will allow for spill over trails and hybrid algorithm gives us the option to have both delay and reverb at the same time. Lovely pedal and good demo. How are you using the footswitches - the ones on the pedal and the triple switch? Btw another thing I really like about this pedal is that it is from SEA - made by a couple of fellas in Indonesia 🤙

As we have only recently purchased the pedal, we have yet to finalize how to use it. Probably use the mc6 to control the presets and auto swell. Pedal buttons to on and off.

Why do "Worship" players think reverb and delay are a religious thing? Reverbs and delays, and ambient sounds have been used extensively in many other genres, especially in Shoegaze music. Look up bands like Slowdive, Hammock, Cocteau Twins, the list goes on and on. This sound has nothing to do with religion. Period.

I don’t think anyone thinks it has to do with worship. I play in a worship band as well. We are all reverb and delay junkies because the sounds that you can conjure up are great for bringing out certain emotions. Beautiful sounds tend to bring you into a place of peace and contentment. It’s not strictly a “religious” thing. It’s a music thing. Certain types of music hit certain places emotionally. We all know that to be true. I too am into slowdive btw. Also love explosions in the sky (not shoegaze, but ambient nonetheless), mogwai, Sigur ros, this will destroy you, etc…. But I’ve yet to meet a worship musician who says that reverb and delay are strictly a “religious” thing. And if that’s what you think, then reverb and delay cannot be coined as ANY one style of music. People just use them because they sound beautiful. So yeah, it literally has nothing to do with worship, it’s just what we use. Just like shoegaze or any other ambient style of music. Idk why that would bother you that it’s used a ton in worship. Should worship only be hymns played on old school organs and pianos? No drums. Not acoustic guitars, let alone electric guitars and pedals. No bass. Worship is just another style of music, like shoegaze is a style of music. Hope you have a blessed day bro.
