VIVIZ's new mini-album Voyage is set to be released on November 7. Umji co-wrote at least two songs on the album. The tracklist and visual teasers are already available. No one knows for sure about GFriend's 10th anniversary reunion yet. I just hope this isn't a trap from Source Music, or an attempt to lay greedy paws on GFriend's legacy, which they lost the fight for to the girls in court.

Not co-wrote, i think Umji wrote both songs herself since she is the only one credited as the lyricist for those two songs. She did co-compose one of them.

As aaron mentioned, gfriend also performed on water for their Love whisper comeback stage (show champion ep.239) Also yeah, you should def watch their Love whisper dance practice too, which is considered gfriend's hardest choreo because it has a lot of steps and footwork coordination.

it's real water and they even performed with the same setup live on national tv (show champion) 😊 gfriend is also known for drawing inspirations from existing anime, manga, and even japanese movies. the visuals and outfits for love whisper (even its korean title) are all based from studio ghibli's 1994 animated movie called "whisper of the heart" meanwhile, summer rain's lyrics, locations, objects, and outfits are all based off the 2005 japanese film called "ima ai ni yukimasu/be with you" that had a rekindling love story during the unexpected rainy season in summer.

Firstly, there is a Japanese MV version Me Gustas Tu (2018), which is COMPLETELY different from the original MV (2015), partially even in lyrics, and not just in visuals. Secondly, between Rough and Navillera, a commercial MV was released - Wave (파도). Thirdly, there are no performance videos here, such as: Labyrinth, Better Me, Secret Diary, Night Drive. There is also a Japanese version of Sunrise, although it is not very different from the Korean one, but the complete coincidence is no more than 10%. I'm not even talking about collaborations, such as MV - Oh, difficult with the Japanese group Sonar Pocket. And that's not all. Back in 2015, Lee Seung Hwan released MV for the song Sweet Pie, where the entire MV video sequence is GFRIEND, even though they don't sing there. You can also add here the Pepsi commercial MV -> Eunha & Ravi - Blossom. And these are just the MVs...

I'm aware of those songs you mentioned, but she can check them out later since they're not main releases. She hasn't even finished the korean title tracks yet, so yeah let her focus on finishing them first. Sometimes you can overwhelm ppl with too many recommendations, so yeah take it easy 😅

about Love Whisper, the original song is called 귀를 기울이면, literally from Korean - If you listen closely. If simplified, it means that if you are on the same wavelength with a loved one, then you will be able to hear their feelings. The physical leading object of these feelings is the blue butterfly itself, the first time it appears in the video when the girls are hiding from a sudden rain 5:44 on SinB's finger, it is hard to see because the butterfly is real, as is the water in the turquoise puddle (according to the idea, the lake where the girls got their abilities). The reference at the end of the song to the next track Summer Rain - you recognized it. There is a performance on a music show, where the entire choreography (and it is considered the most difficult of all the choreographies of GFriend) is performed in water (though not barefoot) look for it by the line Show Champion EP.239 The hook in the chorus of this song is really not very memorable, because it is too complex in structure and to reproduce from memory. By the way, during her performance in the water on Show Champion, Yuju injured her leg until it bled, but continued performing without noticing it. In another performance, at the moment when after Yuju's high note Eunha's solo begins and she moves to the center moving backwards, she fell right on her butt on the stage, but as if nothing had happened, she continued her solo sitting down.

some interesting moments related to this song. On the show Produce 48 - there was a competition where teams of participants, divided into pairs, had to perform a famous song of other groups, among these songs was Love Whisper. No one wanted to choose it, because it was a ​sentence (verdict) both vocally and dancing. In the end, two groups had to perform this song - and both performances were terrible except for one moment, where a little Japanese girl Nako tried to sing Yuju's part (as best she could). When the votes were counted, and it was individual for each participant, Nako scored more points than all the other participants from the two groups performing this song - taken together, ONLY for TRYING to repeat Yuju's solo. This story only emphasizes that the level of vocal and dance performance of GFriend is so HIGH that it is even impossible to repeat it, you can only try to get close. (You can also find all this videos about the story from Produce 48)

I really hope you do a reaction video for these two songs as they are so enjoyable to watch. The footwork and synchronisation during Love Whisper is awesome and Sowon said that it was their hardest choreography ever. She said their heels hurt from all the heel toe moves they had to make. Also you need to watch carefully when they spin 360 degrees because they show great body isolation where their torso turns 90 degrees but their feet don’t move to catch it up until a split second later. That is so satisfying to watch especially when all of the do it in perfect Synchronisation. The dance practice for Summer Rain is like Kpop ballet, so beautiful and graceful and really is a piece of art. Yuju is in her element as there are so many spins which she loves doing and it makes me smile knowing that she will often spin when just feeling happy 😃 as she has shown on many music show encores.

VIVIZ have signed another contract with BPM which I assume will be for another 3 years until summer 2027. So the GFriend reunion for their 10th anniversary is probably only going to be that and not a relaunch of their career. We have not been told anything about it apart from Source Music organising it and presumably funding it as well and calling it a special project. I hope it will be a full concert and maybe a new farewell song for Buddies. I doubt it would be a full comeback with an album as VIVIZ have been so busy and are promoting their own new album throughout November. But I hope for the best. I can see through the real reasons why Source Music and Hybe decided to support GFriend which came so out of the blue for everyone. They are getting so much bad publicity right now from their internal disputes, they definitely need some good PR at the moment which money alone cannot buy. But they can tap into the love and affection still felt for GFriend to make them seem like good guys after all. But GFriend members still have a lot of affection for some old staff who still work there so it will be an emotional and bittersweet time for them I am sure.

@@peterhugo2078, you wrote comments in my comment thread, but I hope Mimi sees them. ;) I share your opinion that the reunion will be a one-off. It's a pity, of course, but under the leadership of Source Music, a full-fledged career renewal is unnecessary. And I wrote under Mimi's pinned comment that I hope this is not a trap to regain control over the GFriend legacy. I saw Eunhae's reaction to questions about the reunion, she did not radiate happiness about it. In all likelihood, it will simply be a mark of a round date.

But the GFriend members have waited all these years to finally have this public reunion for Buddy and so it will be very sad if they cannot enjoy it to the fullest extent because of unpleasant flashbacks to their cruel termination by Source Music previously. I hope they can overcome this to really savour the moment when Sowon finally fulfils her promise to Buddies.

There was a b-side song released with Summer Rain called 'Rainbow' and it's a great song! One of gfriend's best b-sides that is worthy of being a title track. You should listen to it when you have time ;)

TFTMN - opens the next trilogy (just don't combine them into one video), believe me, they deserve your FULL attention.

When (if) you'll be watch the dance practice for Love Whisper - pay attention that at one point Yuju's shoelace came undone and she even stepped on it several times, although this was fraught with danger because the footwork in this choreography is extremely complex.

About Summer Rain - this is the first melancholic song from GFriend, there will be others. A song about unrequited love. Where a short summer rain symbolizes love itself (strong amorousness), and after parting - tears for it. But even such love leaves behind pleasant memories. It is with these memories that the girls are happy at the end. There is a ballad version of the song, it is best to listen to it in an excerpt from the 2018 concert - Season of GFriend. By the way, the piano insert depicting raindrops (a reference from Love Whisper) is nothing more than a reworked version of the classic work by German composer Robert Schumann - titled Dichterliebe op.48-1 I will not explain the lyrics, everyone understands it with their own bias and sees various references in it, but I will note that after a light summer rain there is always a Rainbow, in fact, the b-side with same name along with Summer Rain was in this same repackaging of Rainbow for the album Parallel (the title track Love Whisper). The choreography has many moments that explain the lyrics, this includes the movement of the clock hands back, the folding of an umbrella and raindrops in the form of tears, you just have to see it.
