Gfriend has been inactive for almost 4 years and they are still in the top 4 female groups with the most music show wins (71 wins). Gfriend comes from such a small company but they were able to compete with other girl groups from big companies and also be able to enter the top 5 of the 3rd gen girl groups known as TREBELMAYEO (twice, red velvet, blackpink, mamamoo, yeojachingu/gfriend)

I think the reason why this song blew up for Gfriend was because of the mature vibe they elicited. Had this been released by any other group, it might not have had as much traction. Most of Gfriend's popular hits (Rough, Glass Bead, Me Gustas Tu) embraced their youthful charms; and the concepts of simplicity and innocence were very much the core of their early career. Just as they were soaring in their popularity, their company disbanded them without warning. As always, thanks for the honest reaction 💜

the timing lmfao, there's a huge deal going on with hybe and a dahn world (a cult in sokor) rn. Allegedly this song and their whole concept for this comeback (witch concept) is also made in influence to the cult, 'mago' being an actual goddess and apparently the lyrics is just straight up a prayer that the cult practices like there's shit ton of scary stuff going on right now😭

The CEO of the company which has New Jeans says that she is really scared that something really bad is going to happen to her and she is worried about the safety of New Jeans now too after she fell out with Hybe bosses who are cult members she believes and the witch concepts that GFriend were given was worshipping the deity Mago as was Apple before that where they became demons in the music video. They were offered as a sacrifice after this and forced to disband so their new girl group could rise from the ashes as the lyrics spelt out in the song. This sounds weirder than a Netflix movie but is being suppressed in Korea as some very powerful people are said to be involved and no media dares to report it there.
