When the band started, he was probably the best musician in the band. As the rest of the guys grew musically, Peter regressed due to drug use. Ace was always sloppy, but it was truly his style. No one could ever imitate it. The 4 of them could not have made it in any other line up. The stars aligned and from 1973 to 1978 it was pure magic. Never the greatest musicians, but together, they took over the world for 6 years. I really hope by the end if the road they let Peter and Ace play at least a few songs, IN MAKE UP!!

I just listened to another loft rehearsal from another band, recorded 10 years later... 4 guys trying to get it together, just like these 4... they never launched, too many personal/personELL issues, lol.... I was one of those 4 guys in 1983. It's so cool to see we all started the same way doing the same thing in a manhattan loft, so happy THESE 4 guys made it. The background chatter is priceless!!!!!!!

One amazing and Legend group right here. I love Ace and Peter. They are all so good together. It's Paul, Gene, Ace and Peter. We love them and always will. Back in the 70's when you were a teen and you saw them for the first time, they made an impression on you forever. That's how I felt. I've loved them ever since.

This recording sounds authentic to me. I was there during 1973. I'm quoted in Ken Sharp's book: "Nothing To Lose; The Making of KISS 1972-1975."
