Disagree, the reason why he's so famous now is because of his chaotic persona and the concerts that came later on. If he stuck with the Jabbers then he would have just been another B-musician, because frankly, the Jabbers weren't anything special. Just because they have more of a poppy sound, it doesn't mean that they're destined for success.

GG was an artist. His art form progressed over the years to what some hate him for..I personally think he was a genius. Although he was more polished at this stage, it's not what made him a house hold name. His crazy antics and simple give 0 fucks attitude is what put him in the headlines, and is the reason we all know his name. RIP GG.

Not an american, but I have the impression things have not changed much in USA from GG's days. He's still as controversial as ever, and many people do not see his illness from his antics. Even though he was a product of his times, sadly times have not changed much and there's thousands of alienated, directionless, disillusioned youth facing a future similar to GG's.

rumbamama I knew GG (Kevin) personally in the late 70's Jabber days. He was quite normal and a nice guy (had a nice wife). He started getting strange several years later as he got more heavily involved in drugs (heroin). Sad , really.
@assmunchtv9 жыл бұрын
Jeannie Cooper could you tell me more about gg, although I'm sure you're tired if being asked. I've read his autobiography, and another book about his latest days. The way gg puts it, I think he was destined to have a hard life. He's was always drinking, doing acid, glue, cocaine, heroin, anything to forget about the now
@assmunchtv9 жыл бұрын
You definetly can't judge by the youtube community. Gg has loyal fans thouh, but so does every group. I think people couldn't see his illness and hated him for that, and instead of changing, gg was fueled by the hate. That is bravery yo stand against society in general, but I don't think any human can really sucked that way or truly feel content with themselves, which led to his demise. People still hate him to this day, which shows we as people lack empathy.

I feel bad for GG - talented guy, but clearly something broke within him as a kid or as a young man. Always possible he was shit-eating misanthrope at heart, but all that plus the smack makes me think he was trying to smother some part of himself
@lincojm72553 жыл бұрын
I think GG broke as a young adult. He always wanted action, but he didn’t become the GG everyone knows until the Jabbers disbanded and he got divorced. Both happened in a close period of time so I think that pushed him over the edge
@morgellon94493 жыл бұрын
He had untreated Lyme disease and his brother gave him a laced donut one time. I think the Lyme disease especially made him a bit wacko. I don't think he wasted his potential; I think he did exactly what he wanted, and a lot of times what that was was pretty messed up. I mean, I feel about as bad for him as I do for Charles Manson. I do feel bad for Manson, but he also knew right from wrong and very often he chose wrong. Just because someone hurts you doesn't mean it's okay to hurt other people. That being said, GG was an amazing artist and I really respect him on that level. He was a living work of art. \I don't think the smack had much of effect other than killing him on accident I don't know if you've ever done heroin, but people who haven't tend to have a very skewed perception of it; they only see the most extreme examples of heroin addiction, because the people who function on it hide it, unlike with alcohol. He wasn't a heroin addict, he was a drug enthusiast and heroin was one of the drugs he did. He was primarily addicted to alcohol; he is essentially alcohol abuse distilled to absolute perfection.
