Loved the video. The creative ways you used sugru was very helpful. I have the same problem with dish towel, no place that works so definitely going to get some. Also the lights for outside. I have older Bigfoot motorhome & they didn't come with awning lights. Haven't looked at site so I guess the magnets can also be ordered. I really liked the format because of showing ideas specifically for an RV. Thank you so much.

Sugru is a wonderful silicone rubber product for lots of fixes that require a flexible, waterproof repair - like your wiring. But, if I may offer another suggestion, many of the solutions you showed could be better served with a 2-part moldable epoxy putty like Apoxie, Magic Sculpt [which are available in many sizes and several colors] plus dozens of other similar brands I'm not familiar with. Epoxy putty makes a more permanent, much stronger, and more rigid fix for lots of uses and is much less expensive than packets of Sugru. Plus you can measure out 2 equal portions of only what you need and store the rest for other fixes later. And having been opened, it will keep in a cool place for some years too and it can be easily smoothed with a wet finger.
@fishface62475 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this. I was hype when I just discovered this stuff but WAY too over priced. Apoxie looks fine with 4 lbs for $45

cool, if sugru had been around when I was born I can't even count the thousands of ways I would have used it in my 50+ years!

I've been excited for quite some time to try out Sugru but found it to be a bit expensive. However, I bought some from Amazon on special offer (half-price) and it arrived today. Since I do not currently have any uses lined up for it I've been searching the net for inspiration and idea's but most that I find are repeats of USB cable fixing and such which, to be honest, is a little boring to me now. This video, however, is great, I love the towel holder idea - simple yet really useful and using the magnets with your hook idea to hang lights is great! Thanks for the brilliant video!

Or make your own by mixing cornstarch into RTV silicone sealant. Silicone cures by reacting with moisture in the air so thick pieces take a long time to cure inside.The cornstarch absorbs moisture and carries it through the silicone so it can cure right through quickly.

that stuff looks pretty cool. Nice DIY hacks! I have used JB weld to cover a cluster of small wires soldered together, but the product it hard and inflexible once it sets up. I might have to try this.

I've used a lot of JB Weld as well - fantastic stuff for sure. I DO prefer the flexible result of the Sugru though. They each have their ideal uses, I suppose :)

Sounds like a great product! and a fun video to watch. lol QUESTION: if you only use half like Paula did in the kitchen can you save the other half or does it harden cuz you've opened up the package?
@BackToReality8 жыл бұрын
Hey R unners! According to Sugru, you need to use it all once the package has been opened. That said, we've found that if you place the unused portion in a plastic sandwich bag and store it in the freezer, it seems to stay fresh for several days. I'm not sure how this may affect the overall quality of the sugru, but it still seems to adhere and set into rubber like normal.

LOOKS very cool just ordered some i have 1 question at Polly used only half the amount in the package for one demonstration of so if you dont have anything do use the other half for is there a way to store it until you need with out it drying
@BenVost8 жыл бұрын
I haven't really found a way. You can keep it in an airtight container in the fridge, which slows the curing process, but as soon as you open the packet you're already started that process, so any leftovers you've kept this way don't work as well as the stuff you get when you first open the packet. I guess it's the main reason why the packets are so small.
@welcometoreality34504 жыл бұрын
been using SUGRU forever...great stuff! but choose your projects wisely as it a bit expensive. I never leave home without it (or silicone tape). P.S. once you open a package you cant reseal it so pick a few uses for it (if you only need a dab for your project) as you have to use that amount of sugru or it will harden

Hi Folks, just got my first order of Sugru. Uploaders mention using half the packet on some projects. What about the remainder? Is there any way to re store or seal it so it can be used another time?
@BackToReality7 жыл бұрын
Hi IanRM, according to Sugru, the official response is that you have to use it all once the packet has been opened. They recommend not trying to store it for later use. That said, we've experimented a bit by sealing the unused portion in a plastic bag and placing it in the freezer. It still worked fine about a week later when we thawed it out. That said, I can't guarantee that it will perform as well as the freshly opened sugru, but it did work for us. Your results may vary. We hope you enjoy it either way though! :)

Oh... You should REALLY CAREFUL cause sugru cannot "survive" through too hot temperatures (more than 180 C) (I think everyone had already knew it...) So if you decide to use it in a super-hot environment, make sure that place (object) has a temperature that must be lower than 180 C.

Sugru is something you take your time over. Don't do one job that will only need half a packet, wait until you have two and do them both at the same time. It's a great product that I have used several times but sometimes I have the Sugru in the fridge for months before I come up with multiple jobs to maximise the use of it. I never waste any.

Just simply telling us about it as well as where and how you used it would have been fine. Don't get me wrong. I like you guys a lot and your channel is really cool but... HUN??? So you move into a home like other people but dress up as if you were still in the van and advertise something that I agree may be good but this is totally disigenuous just because you were paid. Either video dates are mixed or you just 'created' the scene to get the money. Not sure I want to watch anymore; I certainly didn't watch this. Are the hugelcultures sponsored too?
