@Anomaly1882 жыл бұрын
In Hail to the King, when you've got an enemy in the chainsaw finisher you can hit Square to execute them and save fuel. Ash also drops one liners before and after the execution for extra voice lines you can't hear any other way. It's also the best way to get healing items and ammo since executions force the enemies to drop them for you. I had to learn that the hard way since the game doesn't hint at it being a thing but it's really the most efficient way to get supplies. You also really want to rev your chainsaw arm before getting into combat since revved chainsaw hits do a lot more damage than just slashing with it unrevved. In fact, unrevved chainsaw slashes are probably the weakest attack in the whole game.

@vetreas3662 жыл бұрын
@@jamiel8552 Voice acting is not the same as regular acting. It uses different "muscles" and it depends on the director as well. Don't blame the actor, blame the casting. Dinklage was a bad fit but they went through anyway because of name recognition and got burned. To say he's lacking integrity when he does his job just fine and puts in great performances when acting in regular circumstances is disingenuous.
@jamiel85522 жыл бұрын
@@vetreas366 It's the director's fault Dinklage put in a subpar performance? I don't believe that. It's precisely because he's such a good actor that his performance in Destiny is insulting. PS-I always loved the fact that Campbell adores his Ash role and the fans…it always fascinated me that Carrie Fisher, Ford, and Alec Guiness didn’t really care about Star Wars or their iconic characters. It’s like they read the lines and went home or something. I don’t see how anyone could play a key role in any meta universe and not be at least curious about the big world at large. Mark Hammillnis our exception. He seems like he not only loves his role and his fans, but he is a Star Wars nerd in his own right. That is awesome, and has to be a blast for him.

The guy who does the voice of Jarvis in the Iron Man movies is kinda like that. He says he feels awful that he has to tell his "fans" that he knows nothing about the movies. His experience is walking into a studio for a couple of days, acting through his lines, then they give him a bag of money and he goes home. A lot of actors are just there for a couple of days doing the scenes they appear in, and then they go to the next project. And those jobbers are sometimes the best actors. John Carradine was famously able to walk into a set, read his lines once and then go for a nap while everyone was setting up, then do his scenes flawlessly in one take. People loved him as it saved a ton of money on film stock and he always gave everything, but he likely couldn't have told you what the Film was about outside his scenes if you paid him. And Christopher Lee did something like 400 Movies. When he would be reading a script at home his daughter would run up and ask him "how are you going to get killed this time, daddy?" But do you think he was a fan of them all? Ya I'm rambling. But basically, ya, acting is a job. Few people do it for the love, most do it as it pays the bills.
@LilyoftheLake1410 ай бұрын
@@jjoshaugh The actor who voiced Jarvis, Paul Bettany, is the same actor who plays the character, Vision, and has been playing that character on screen since 2015, being introduced in the 2nd Avengers movie, Age of Ultron. So now, he's on set for weeks to months and for much longer hours. He no longer gets to just go do lines in a booth for a couple days and then go home, not since 2014-2015 (depending on when Age of Ultron filmed since it released in 2015 but it was probably filmed in 2014.) In Age of Ultron, Jarvis was "deleted" by Ultron during the 1st attempt that Tony and Bruce made to create a robotic AI protection force for the world after Wanda had given Tony a vision of all the Avengers dead. The 1st experiment unintentionally created Ultron who proceeded to attempt deleting Jarvis, but Jarvis actually hid himself (can't remember exactly how cause it's been a minute since I've seen Age of Ultron.) So, when Tony finds out that Jarvis is still somewhat "alive," Tony decides to try a 2nd time to make a protector force and instead of using a new AI creation, he instead uses the remnants of Jarvis' hidden code. Tony combines whats left of Jarvis with a vibranium body that has the mind infinity stone inside it (which the mind stone was pulled from Loki's scepter from the 1st Avengers), and was a body Ultron had made and intended to use to transfer himself into, but the Avengers intercepted the body before Ultron could do that, which is how Tony had it. Tony is wary about whether or not he should finish the 2nd attempt and he nearly scraps Vision because of the Ultron situation. That is, until Thor comes in and tells them that the HAVE TO finish the 2nd attempt and Thor uses his hammer & lightning power to quickly finish vision's creation. Thor did that because he'd gone earlier to some mystical cave that if you bathe in the waters inside, you'll get guidance for the future or something like that. Thor went to the cave after Wanda also gave him disturbing visions... lol Explaining that has made me realize that, in a roundabout way, Wanda created Vision by giving Tony & Thor visions that caused them to create Vision lmao! 😆 Sorry about being so 🤓, I really liked the MCU and watched almost every movie in the MCU (some more than once), up to Avengers Endgame. I haven't watched any MCU movies after Endgame, with the exception of The Guardians of the Galaxy 3. I like some of the Disney+ MCU TV shows, but the newer movies have been absolutely terrible.
@maskednil9 ай бұрын
There is a difference when you are behind the scenes. Grinding away for days and months, while being analytical with the movie making process. The actor didn't watch the scene as part of the movie with completed effects and soundtrack, and feel the magic the audience did. The actor just repeated memorized lines and body movements. There is a disconnect there.

So having Bruce Campbell voice the return of Ash, and a story that expanded more on the lore, this was the greatest thing ever.

Hail to the king was one of my favorite games on the playstation, it's been awhile since I've played it but I remember the trick with the combat was doing combos with the chainsaw and a firearm and you could breeze through it.

Just an update: The Ash vs Evil Dead game has just announced they are no longer releasing new content, they will still keep the servers up and also patch anything that comes up but its the end of the road for perhaps the best ED game I've played in a grip.

The only one of these I owned was Regeneration on PS2. I remember getting it for only $10. Not sure if it was a budget title, or I just got it on sale. I was too young to see the flaws in its repetitive nature, but I enjoyed the simplicity of it and had fun with it. I remember it being fairly short, and ended up traded it in when I was done. They had BTS interviews with Bruce, and he was still talking about the possibility of a 4th movie that was stuck in limbo.

PS part 2- There is a reason that the games ignore Army of Darkness…so apparently, that film was made under a contract where the production company owns the license to that plot, and they refused to release it to Rainj after release. So the tv show and the games were expressly not allowed to use any scenes or references to that film. Research it, and you’ll find that Kevin Smith had a similar problem with Mallrats.

Had "Hail to the King" on Dreamcast. Always thought that Chainsaw should have went straight to the finisher on normal enemies when you had the fuel - that would have made combat less of a slog. I ended up running away from 70% of the enemies when I could just because combat was taking so fu%%ing long.

I patched Boomstick to activate cheats, because of a lack of new game plus. I call this mode 'A Fistful of Spells'. I gave Ash max magic, infinite magic and all spells from the beginning, and dont let myself use melee tools except for puzzles. Its awesome, and it feels like a great new way to play. And theres a lot of weird quirks and some cool combos that come with magic, like being able to summon as many dogs as you want. Run around with 20 dogs if you want. Or use Extra Strength then possess a deadite to be a deadite that one-shots other deadites In the first two levels, you can summon deadites, random human NPC's, and Eldridge stuck in a falling loop

I believe that army of darkness isn't canon to the ash vs evil dead series due to some copyright thing (same reason why evil dead 2 is a soft reboot/sequel) it seems the biggest enemy of the evil dead franchise is copyright laws But luckily they do the smart thing and reference previous events without out right saying it

Bruce Campbell's son has a twitch and his subscriber to view ratio is insanely off. Like people only follow him for his dad but never actually watch. You'd think someone who's dad is in so many games he'd be better at it
