O-skills are one of my favourite concepts in the game's itemization. The way that it further deepens the well of build options is so awesome. By the way, what do you think about them adding future skills to the game that exist solely as O-skills? I'm not sure how much control they have over the classic graphics to add new animations, but I wonder if this could work as a way to add "auxiliary" skills that different characters find different uses for.

I don't mind o-skills being kind of underpowered, but I find they made strange decisions about usability; sure it's cool that Trang's gives those Fire skills, but I'm not sure what the intended use of this would be. Best I can figure is that you could start damaging enemies with poison and finish them off with Fire but it's pretty underwhelming. Maybe with enough +Skills Vengeance could be good on a triple-mastery Enchantress but this seems inefficient. Too bad, I'd love to see some builds that could make proper use of o-skills!

About the missing warmth synergy, to my knowledge, it is only “hard points” meaning points invested, that grants synergy. Ofc there’s no rule without exceptions, in this case, most of the Druid summoning tree deviates from this rule. Not ravens, but the rest does..

In the necromancer example you mentioned, will the fireball level be affected if he uses a staff that granted + to fireball or a sword that gives + to fire skills?

If I remember right, they removed synergies from o-skills and capped originals to lvl 3 because you'd have people abusing necro gear on a fire sorc, for example. Uuuh, memory really fuzz here I'm sure I got some of this wrong.

You mentioned that + to necro skills gear does not increase the fireball/wall o-skill levels on the trangs set. Follow up to that, does + to sorc skills affect those skills levels? (i.e. + to skills from the original class owner of that skill)

I tested this as well, by putting a Plus Sorc torch on a necromancer using full trangs, and a barb torch on a character using a CTA. In both cases the specific plus to skills did not effect the O-Skills. It has to be generic Plus to all skills.

For the Paladin List, shouldn’t Holy Shock & Fire be on there considering both the Dream & Dragon Rune words give those aura to different classes? Great video BTW.

THEY are not o skills as all skills don't stack on them

They don't grant you the skill, they just make the aura automatically active when equipped, without occupying r-click slot. O skill grants you the skill and you use it as if you were the other class.

Either that or lycanthropy doesn't function as a synergy. Probably more akin to the way skeleton mastery interacts with skeletons

It applies only to you on each attack, and yes it stacks with other effects on you. So if you had a weapon with -25% and socketed an eth rune Into it it would go to -50%. Check out the article on Amazon basin for more information. theamazonbasin.com/wiki/index.php/Target_Defense

Try this, put three pieces of Trang-Ouls on a Paladin. Level 18 Fireball and Level 13 Firewall. Now, add in a The Salamander Unique staff. It's now 22 Fireball and 16 Firewall. The +4 to Fireball coming from plus Two Fire skills and plus two to Fireball. Oh and adding Burning Grand Charm for Sorc plus fire - does not work. Find a good Leaf base, and use Conviction who knows?

Back in the days, CTA with more than 3+ BO would only display it as +3. However, a babarian could use 2x CTA to get +8 BO (CTA also has +1 all skills)

A little correction, CTA also has +1 to all skills and therefore 1 doesn't hurt if you want the highest possible BO. I'd still prefer +3 warcry sticks ince they also boost item find, and eventually dual hoto for that crazy fcr and cheaper teleport.

you can only use one CTA though which is the issue, both CTA's only count as +3 for the O Skills and +1 for the all skills so Two CTA would be +5 for two

I have been playing D2 my entire life, and i've never tested this. If a necro in full trangs were to have a sorceress hellfire torch, would it increase the level of the sorceress o-skills? I'm 99% sure it doesn't but after watching this I kinda feel like it should.

Imagine having a necro with full trang using a sorc torch and sorc fire skillers, that would be so awesome. It would make oskills a LOT more usable and add a lot of build variety imo.

Auras Provided by equipment can not be enhanced in anyway except from other items which also have said aura. If you were for instance a barbarian dual wielding beasts you could stack the two lvl 9 auras to lvl 18. that is the only way.

It's not so odd that O-skills don't synergize. Synergies come only from hard points and O-Skills are not hard points.

Doesn’t sound odd to me. Oskill (outside skill) prevents abuse by players. Getting +13 or +18 to a skill from an item makes that skill viable to the outside character. It would be insanely broken to allow the native skill user to get that bonus from an item. Design view versus players endless hunger view. Of course it would be powerful for the player to get +13. But it would break the game by making it too easy. Too hard: frustrated players abandon the game (like vanilla D3). Too easy, and players abandon the game fir not being challenging enough (later Diablo 3 in favour of Path of Exile).

2 CTA with 3 BO you get a total 8 battle command. 3 bo + 1 to all skill on cta x2. So it is still better than 2x WC weapon or hoto.

Its not entirely & always "garbage" to use those items on their respective native class. A barbarian can use a 3/3/3 cta to get +4 and a +3 to warcry spear to get the highest of +7 compared to 2x 3wc spears. Sounds marginal but on the other hand a 3/3/3 is hardly more than a vex anyways.

Agreed. Teleport was just ported from Diablo 1 without much thought. It's a huge advantage in mobility with only needing mana to cast without any cooldown or range limitation. Then they made runewords and Enigma just made the game so stale.
