When using this bow you could swap your Fire Arrow rogue to a Cold Arrow one and give her Duress and Vampire Gaze for more cold damage to make use of the -35% Enemy Cold Resistance on this bow. Cold Arrow rogue is otherwise worse because of the strangely low missile life of Cold Arrow and because Cold Arrow halves your damage (It disappears after like 5 yards which is so weird unlike Fire Arrow that does more damage without halving the damage in addition to traveling off screen!). Even just one point of cold damage does the chilling job better on Fire Arrow rogue than Cold Arrow. Vampire Gaze can give some cold damage to your Fire Arrow rogue. 🏹🔥❄

Especially with an item like this which generally gets ignored. The -35% cold resistance is useful on a ton of characters even a hurricane druid

Wanted to revisit that remark i made on the Skin of the Vipermagi vid: i have used this bow up until the last act in Hell, as weapon switch for my wind druid, and it really worked well there too. Not as powerful in Hell as in normal and NM, but it still did the job with nasty Cold and/or Physical Immunes overall. And when i got swarmed by powerfull hordes, i usually ran back under the cover of a few tornados and my hurricane, fired a few arrows in the cluster, and then could kill everything much easier. I really love versatile builds. It's really hard to be able to solo every monster in the game, but i do like to get as close as possible :) I have a large collection of cool bows now, and mostly use the Rogue as merc, so they always come in handy:) I really hope some of the future changes will allow the merc to proc certain effects for us, like minus cold resist from wizendraw, which would even make more variations possible! Currently having a ton of fun with Amazon and Koku shakaku immolation build. Valkyries are powerful allies! :D

I was lucky to find a perfect -35% cold resist. Use it to carry my zon from Normal to Nm and to Hell Act1. Upped it during the middle stages. Super style points for using this one i may add :P

You can pretty much have the freezing arrow carry you with this bow until Hell, also the huge mana boost is actually very nice for bowazone at that level. I always dreamed of maybe making some Pally or Sorc build with it, but at that point you might as well use the Ice.

I'm using this on an Act 1 fire arrow merc who is wearing Duress body armor (adds 37-133 cold damage) so I believe she's doing fire, cold, physical and magic damage -- seems to work well I was using an Act 1 cold arrow merc, but even with the -cold resistance the cold immune monsters weren't affected

I don't believe the magic arrow from this bow works on her. Even though it might display the effect. Generally when your using the act1 rogue and you want good damage output you need piercing effect. 100% pierce Mist, 50% pierce Kuko, and 33% pierce Wisdom The piercing effect allows the exploding and freeze arrow to multiply their damage output tremendously

It all depends honestly, Skystrike is likely faster, the rolls could be bad, and the +2 amazon skills on skystrike might be making up for poor skills on your part.

I am a bit late to the topic, but Lycander's Aim is a quite a good bow that reliably can get you through hell. Before Runewords where added to the game Lycander's Aim was sometimes considered the 2nd best unique bow after Windforce, as such if you don't have the high runes needed for the good bow runewords then Lycander's Aim could serve you well. That been said, whever you would want to use your runes upgrade it or not is debatable, upgrading it will make it quite strong but the strong bow runewords are miles ahead of it.

2 Cold Rainbow Facets in a Witchwild String? I have multiple Witchwilds now too on my offline lol Trying to get a Bowadin working because it'd be FUN... and a change from well... I also have at least one nice Wizendraw upped to the Siege Rune. I only have ONE pul and 3 lems and no other good runes anymore :( (Used a Ko to upgrade Vipermagi skin - and why would I NOT?!?)

I know this is a year old, but I came to this video to get info for my ranger and there's a lot wrong on the surface. For example, lvl 5 magic arrows means 13% damage conversion, not 5%. Making corrections in the video/description would be very helpful.

this was a change with patch 2.4, this video was made before 2.4. Patch Notes State "Magic Arrow Increased the amount of physical damage converted to magic damage for the base level and per level" It was changed from basically 1% per level to more like 2% per level and teh base was also increased a bit. This is why lvl 5 now does a 13% conversion. instead of 5% If I could go through and redo every video after each patch changes things like this I would but I Just don't have the time. I am trying though.

Yes they are the same thing. Keep in mind the lowest a monster can go is -100% So if a monster is at 99% cold resistance the most you will ever need us -199%

@@commonwealthofalaska5602 valks color shows the modifiers that are on her equipment. There are whole guides on it. But long story short is this. You want red armor and solid black spear.

Well, I tried with cold sorc in latest patch but results where underwhelming. Reason is that non-cold immune get far less damage. As they get already -150 from my cold mastery. For other cold based chars might be interesting though (especially with rainbow facet cold). I will make freezing arrow amazon and will get back to you.
