Thanks for your video. I've not got the same model, but your video has helped me replace the batteries in my unit and bring life back to Echo Dot. I can have music while I sing in the shower again.

Great video. I will fix the faulty battery of my GGMM D3 following your instructions. I start once the battery arrives. Thanks for making the video.

Just a little bit of advice here when cutting the battery cables especially on the new battery. Cut the two wires (black/red) individually, not both at once as shown in the video as you will short out the battery and could possibly blow the internal over current fuse in the pack or at least get a nasty spark!! 👍🏻

Great video, very useful, thank you. I have removed the battery but it has THREE wires: red; black; and yellow. The replacement has only black and red as per the video. How do I connect the yellow, please?
@FixItPhil2 жыл бұрын
Since my D3 doesn't have a yellow wire, I'm guessing you have a slightly different, perhaps "upgraded" model, from the one I repaired in the video. My guess is that the yellow wire is used for some sort of sensing in order to cutoff charging when the battery is full/depleted in order to prevent damage to it. If the new battery only has two leads, then it is not compatible with your unit and you should get one that has three leads. You won't be able to "create" a third lead on the new battery and there's no guarantee that it would work (safely) if you bypass this wire. The old battery pack should have specifications and perhaps a model/type number that should help you in locating a suitable replacement.

My base cjarger only works when plugged in (which defeats the purpose). Any way I can get it to work while not plugged in? Would I have to replace the battery as shown?

how can I disassemble the PlusAcc Echo Pop base? Mine started to discharge, even when plugged. I've taken the foam from under the base, but there are no screws.

Hm, I haven't tried that one. Sorry, I'm not sure.

@@FixItPhil found it. There are 3 screws on the upper part, under a little circle foam

Hi Phil, excellent video explaining how to change the battery. I think I may have a problem and will soon need to replace it. My base unit is now flashing 4 lights all the time, which, having lost the manual, I don't know what it means. I am guessing it means it isn't charging properly anymore and next step is total battery failure. Is that right?
@FixItPhil2 жыл бұрын
Hm, I don't think that LED pattern is mentioned in the manual anyway, but I think you're probably right, that it means the battery pack is on its way out. Hope you were able to fix it!

Hi, I just bought two of these battery packs and both of them even with full charge make the echo dot crash after 5 minutes of use. Do you know why? Thanks.

Can you turn off the base while it's plugged in? If so, does the Echo still works with the base off?
@FixItPhil2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Echo will work while the base is off if the base is plugged in and charging .

Our echo has stopped connecting after couple of years when on the base but works when plugged back in to the mains on its own, useless.
